| Nice guitar!
What's your amp and what do you want this pedal to do?
It's kinda like you just told us you finished dinner and want a dessert. Do you like cake, cookies, ice cream.....the choices are endless and each one is unique
Can you be a bit more specific? What kind of music do you play?

I just want this pedal to do music like Canon Rock and such.
EDIT: and thanks lol ya I really like it. Looks great and sounds great too.

| my friend has one of those guitars. They've got a nice sound.
Where will you be playing the majority of the time, at your house or at your church? Any info on the church's amp?
If the church's amp has a decent overdrive sound of its own, then I would say you should buy a delay pedal first. They're very useful for contemporary worship music. However, if the church's amp is pretty basic and doesn't have the option to switch between a clean sound and a distortion sound (has two or more channels) then I would say you should buy a nice overdrive or distortion pedal first.
My suggestions: For delay- Boss DD-7
For Overdrive/Distortion- Fulltone Fulldrive 2 |

| To be honest, I'd invest in an amp first, then pedals. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but you'll be much happier in the long run.
HOWEVER, if you do get pedals first, I second the above statement kind of. The OS2 is a good distortion and overdrive to start with, and can be had cheap if you buy used (I constantly see them go for about 55 shipped on HC. As for a delay, try the boss DD3. It can also be had for cheap. I'd say start cheap, figure out what you like, and upgrade from there. I started with those two pedals, and have since upgraded, but to be completely honest I've pondered many times about going back to the DD3 (I play a DD7 now, and have used others), and I've still got my OS2 in my arsenal.
Another option is to start with a multi effects, such as a line 6, boss, or digitech. Again, try out different sounds on it and upgrade from there. |

| yeah something like a pod xt live could be a good investment, you can definitely find a used one for like $200, and it gives you pretty much every effect out there, and then eventually you can move to individual pedals, it's what i did and has worked out pretty well, it's just hard to know what you want when you're just starting out |

I suggest a decent little amp first. Then if you need pedals, I would get a delay, and an overdrive.
For delay, I like the DD-5 pretty well, since the advent of the DD-7 it has lost value and has external tap tempo which is to me, a must for any delay.
For overdrive, I would skip the boss stuff, and not go as high end as a fulltone, when we have SBN here at CGR. Honestly, he makes a meaner pedal than fulltone IMO, and a lot more affordably. I might go with the little eagle, or the new 22.
If you are really wanting to be budget conscious, the best overdrive for the buck, in my opinion is the danelectro transparent overdrive.

#10 | | Registered User | Know what the pedal does before you buy it. One of my first effects was an overdrive pedal and I thought it would give me distortion. I learned that it didn't when I plugged it in and so I sold it, because I thought it did something it didn't. (Since then I've bought a better overdrive pedal that I use on a daily basis.) Find sound clips of a pedal or do a search for a demo of it on youtube before you buy it. And only buy it if you're going to use it. I have a Phaser and even though it's cool, I hardly ever use it. Buy it because you need it, not because you just want a pedal.

| Amp, amp, amp. I was way happier when I got a decent amp, than when I had a lousy amp, and a multi-effects pedal. |

| kill two birds with one stone get like a 30 watt line 6 spider 3 it has some decent buitlt in delay (Tap and pan echoes), distortion(four channels Clean, crunch Metal and insane ) and it has reverb, chorus flanger ans phaser as well as a tremelo affect.
if yo8ur set on a pedal it varies on what you want and what you play |

| A spider 3 is going to be killing half a bird with one stone. It kind of solves the desire for pedal experimentation, but not really, because it's not a pedal. It doesn't solve the amp issue... |

| Yeah, I'll be the third to say stay away from the Line 6 Spider garbage.
