Chorus Before Delay or Delay Before Chorus

I'm just curious what everyone's preference is and why. I put my delay before my chorus. I feel like things get muddled up with the chorus in front.

I believe I asked this question before on CGR and eventually ended up running a setup similar to what your preference is.

My delay is always my last modulation effect, it's last in line before my Sonic Stomp and Volume Pedal. Recently I saw that I wasn't using chorus much anymore and just started using modulated delay settings.

Mine's rarely off but you can barely tell that it's on.

I like running mine after delay, but I don't like my cable that runs to the amp to come off of the "top" side of my board. I have a Small Clone, thus it goes before the delay. Pretty stupid reason.

There are two completly different sounds.
For me, though, it is usually chorus before delay

I run my delay LAST...well, I guess I run it just before reverb. I guess I do that because it's more natural to the way these effects would occur if I wasn't using pedals. Delay and Reverb are part of the natural ambience of a room. These effect pedals are simply attempting to simulate this ambience in a space that is not naturally ambient in the same way that the pedals create. If I had no delay pedal and I had a chorus effect on my amp, then my chorus would either reverberate or be delayed depending on the room I was playing in. So the chorus would be delayed...the delay would not be chorused. So, I run delay and reverb last. It sounds nice to me. It allows my entire signal to be delayed or reverberated so it sounds more natural (to me).

The beauty of pedals is that we can pretend to alter nature and put these things in any order that we want!
