Played her at church yesterday, she sounded like a champ!

Thats a very common change from the 70's. The Joan Jett reissue is one, and in the mid 80s-90s there was a gibson issued PAF equipped MM.

I will say, I most definitely would get this guitar if I really liked it.

I reallyyyy would like to. But he says I can borrow it as long as I would like too, so I think I will invest in a new amp and this will be number 2 on the priority list. Then I get to start beefing up the pedalboard!

You can always get a new amp. But finding one of those that you really like to play is much trickier.

This is true. Especially since my amp will not be incredible and this guitar really is one of my favorites that I have played, and definitely the best in the $500-600 range. I will think and pray on it and see what happens.

In my opinion, to find the guitars you actually love and are happy with is just a tricky proposition. Amps, meh, you can always track one down. Vintage gibsons with a 60's neck in the sub 1000 range, not so easy.
