looking for an electric guitar

Hey.. if anybody could help me out that would be great.I'm new here so i apologize if I'm not doing this right.I make christian rock and praise music and I'm getting ready to record some stuff and I'm in search of an electric guitar.I'm recording in my house so thats not going to cost me anything but due to some recent money struggles( We all have them ,but God provides doesnt He?) I had to sell my Gibson.I'm looking for an electric that sounds great distorted. I have a Creed type sound.I've been playing about 11 years now so I need something good.I also want to play live at church or wherever, all I have is about $200 bucks.i've looked on e-bay and craigslist. Fernades,Michael Kelly,Raven West,Cielo Sultana etc.. those types But i dont know alot about them.If anybody can suggest something I would appreciate it.Or if anybody has anything for sale around that price range let me know. That would be great.Thanks.

Well I don't know as much as others here but you probably wont find much for $200, that being said I would check Craigslist usually you can find some really awesome deals.

First I would ask some one if the guitar is good though, unless you already know.

I've had a Michael Kelly Valor Limited for the past few years and I can vouch for it. I got it new for about $400, although you can find them cheaper via eBay. It has build quality that surpasses most other guitars in the price range, and it looks and sounds at least twice what it costs. It has a set neck that feels great, I had four to choose from in the store and while all of them felt good, I picked the one that I thought felt best. It has a Spalted Maple top that looks amazing and that always gets a good reaction from people when they see it.
It has rockfield pickups and one of the main reasons why I bought it was that it sounded like a Gibson. The guitarist in my Dad's band had a 1970s Gibson Les Paul Custom that I always drooled over. It felt similar to the Michael Kelly, and I could nail the tone too.
It also has coil tapping, so I can get single coil tones out of it too. If you're looking for a very versatile, Gibson-like guitar that has solid build quality and an affordable price, definately look into Michael Kelly.

Thanks.. I'll keep my eyes out for a good one on e-bay.The look isnt really as important as the sound of it. As long as its not falling apart on me while im recording im cool! I had heard of Michael Kelly I just hadnt heard from anybody who had one.Seemed like they were good guitars.

If you like Gibsons in that price range I would look for a used Epiphone. I've had yamaha guitars in the past that were pretty good in that price range, I like some of the Ibanez stuff I've played. If at all possible try to find something locally that you can play, and inspect before you buy.

Go to Rondomusic.com and have a look around. Don't let the price fool you. There are some fairly nice guitars to be had from them for not a lot of coin.

Epiphone is def on the list.. I have tried finding one that had the pickups replaced and was nicked or had blems or something But i havent had much luck finding one. I saw some Ibanez ones that sounded pretty good. The stores around here dont have any so I havent been able to play one.
