#1 | | Baby #2 is here! | XTL back to singles I love my XT Live...especially for recording, but I find that I ALWAYS have a hard time finding *that* setting. Something always sounds off. Changing stuff on the fly is also pretty hard. This thing has TONS of settings/effects, but I find myself only using some sort of distortion, tremolo and delay. The whole time I've been using my xtlive (3 years at least), I've always wished for the simplicity of the singles again.
I started digging out what I hadn't sold (broken DS-1, a volume pedal, Korg 401dl delay, DD5) and began visiting the local mom and pop shop. Usually stuff is WAAY overpriced, but I went in just for kicks. I noticed that they had lots of cool cat pedals.
Well, today I went back and after trying one out (and with Bill's praise) bought a Cool Cat Distortion and a Tremolo for 80 out the door (good for the mom and pop shop). (*it should be noted they had 2 transparent overdrives).
So, I took the stuff to my church and played my new setup for about an hour and it sounds heavenly! I'm really happy right now.
SO my new chain is...
Charvel TX Custom -> volume pedal -> Cool Cat Overdrive -> DD5 w/tap -> Korg 401dl (echo) -> Cool Cat Tremolo -> Hot Rod Deluxe
It is sweetness!

| Nice. I might consider doing that as well except for three things.
1. I have to carry my gear around quite a bit. More gear is not fun.
2. I have yet to play an amp that got close to the sound I want. The POD got close enough that I'm content.
3. The POD is just so darn versatile!
I might get an Axe FX sometime in the future though. Especially if they ever get around to doing a floorboard version.

#6 | | Baby #2 is here! | Just a small update (sorry for resurrecting an old thread)...
I have been working on building up my board for a while. I've upgraded to a pedaltrain II board, taken out the volume, and added an original crybaby and another cool cat pedal (they are ugly, but cheap and sound really good to me)... The cool cat arrived today...Its a CO-1 Drive. Its supposed to be an OCD clone. I wanted a Transparent Overdrive, but it was over twice the price.
My board is at church. I'm going there tonight. I'll try to get a picture taken of my new setup

| Nice looking board! The Drive is a great pedal and sounds pretty similar to the TOD on low settings I think. I bought one really cheap a while ago and keep it around in my bag for when I'm too lazy to bring my whole board, or if I play something that I only need a bit of distortion for. |

#10 | | Baby #2 is here! | I think its a PT2. I got it from GC. I believe it is the normal PT2, but it came in a different type of hard case

That's actually a PT-1, very slightly smaller than the PT-2, at least if it's the same as the one I was considering. |

I got it for about $100 out the door if I remember correctly

| If its from GC, its the P-1. I just picked one up for just over $100 this week. The only thing I don't like about the board is that it doesn't seem to be quite deep enough when I drop it into the hardshell case....
