This is starting to get ridiculous if you ask me...

All we're doing is discussing possible future ideas for Guitar Hero games. If you do not like this, you can leave.

Guitar Hero: Willie Nelson...nuff said!

In this game the screens always blurry, like you're looking through half opened eyes and the music sounds like it's in slow motion.

The only way I would play Guitar Hero is if they had one for one of these guys: Chet Atkins, Mark Ribot, Son House, or The Mississippi Sheiks.

I thin there should be a Stryper Version!
Who's with me?

The next GH should be Iron Maiden. Or possibly Protest the Hero.

I'd like to see The Mars Volta get their own Rock Band. Or even better, have it be a Less Than Jake edition, and make new trumpet controllers you have to blow into while pressing the buttons down.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

What they need to do is stop releasing full games around bands and just release DLC. Or at least make the music on the full games available as DLC. I'm loving GH Metallica right now (borrowing a mate's copy), but I'd rather have all those tracks on World Tour. Then a simple update to World Tour to add the Expert+ functionality.

This is what I was getting at by my statement.

All these individual releases (with instruments) are just another way for them to make money. Instead they should offer these expansions online sorta like an iTunes library.

My comment was also referring to the fact that if even 10% of expert Guitar Hero/Rock Band players practiced real guitar or bass guitar or drums or singing for half as many hours as they play the video game, then we'd have a whole new generation of great bands and artists. The GH drums are the only semi-transferable skill. All the guitar teaches you is timing your fingers with your strum/pick. The vocals teaches you how to direct pitch. Other than that, there is no transferable skill involved.

I'm willing to bet that someone who can get a 90% or higher playing Through the Fire and Flames on expert could transfer that skill over to speed/shredding on the guitar at least a little. Of course, if you're good enough to even get through TTFAF on expert, then you probably have no life.

There's also been an increase in people interested in real instruments directly related to GH and Rock Band.

Yup. GH 3 got me playing. Well, that and a Journey concert DVD. I would rather play guitar than guitar hero.

They should make a blues version. SRV and Hendrix combo would be really cool.
