| Grrr... even though I'm tied for 3rd with guyskankrye I'm listed as 4th. I must regain my title.
Only one more week of work left - I'm getting excited for my camping trip, August 28th to September 5th. My family is going up with a couple of my cousins' families. It should be a good time, and then when I get back it'll be time to pack for uni... I'm getting pumped for that too.
I'm playing ball on Monday night again Possibly Wednesday too, from the sound of it. This little extension to my season has been a lot of fun.
I'm singing "In Christ Alone" with a girl from my church on Sunday morning as part of the profession of faith service. We're going to have multiple parts and it's going to sound prett-ay.
Thought of the day:
I wonder how many people of the 50 I invited on facebook will actually show on Sunday?

| Profession of faith went swimmingly this morning. I got to play drums too The song we sang couldn't have gone any better, our parts worked really well. Afterward we had upwards of 25 people at my house and it was so much fun. So many friends I'm not going to see again for a long time... But today was wonderful.
Last week of work starts tomorrow.
Current standings:
1. OiBoyz - 92.1%
2. tmlfan123 - 91.0%
3. guyskankrye - 90.1%
4. Rainer. - 89.5%
This is definitely a sign of the apocalypse.
Thought of the day:
What did I ever do to deserve this many amazing friends?

Played my last game of the year tonight. 3-2 win, I had 2 RBI's. Felt good, felt good! I had a great year and I'm hoping to play in this league again next year. And if my university has some kind of casual baseball league I'd sign up in a heartbeat.
I'm gearing up for camping - I leave on Friday and won't be back until the 5th. It'll be time to let someone else be #2 in the contest anyway
Thought of the day:
Why can't I have a little more time in every day to do all the things I want to?

| Today was one of those days in which I realized again how wonderful the world is. It wasn't really a special day - I worked 10.5 hours and spent most of the day falling asleep in the government car - but on the ride home with the sun starting to set over the river, my town looked incredible.

| So much is going on... but I found a minute to say that today I'm moving away from home for the first time My friend summed it up when he said "you must be so excited and yet scared shitless at the same time". First classes are on Thursday - orientation tomorrow and Wednesday.
Thought of the day:
I hope I'll still have enough time during the school year to keep up here.

| Answer to above thought of the day: Probably not.
I did have a great time through two days of orientation. I didn't hit up any parties(supposedly the prerequisite for fun here) but I got to know a few fellow engineering nerds and run around doing crazy stuff. First day of classes tomorrow - then home for a three-day weekend. Because I did the two required calculus courses already by correspondence, I only have 12 credit hours first semester and 15 second. And because I only have four courses, I have Fridays completely off
Thought of the day:
It's probably a good thing this is an online forum or I would probably get killed for the above statement.

| Nah, we wouldn't kill you. In the fall of my senior year I had two actual classes, both of which were senior level classes. Both were only one day a week during the afternoon. So yeah, I wasn't in class very much and others hated me. I enjoyed it though.

I went to the weekend retreat for the performing arts group I was a part of for all of my four years in high school last night. I suppose first I should provide some background on the team. It was called Spirit Borne, and it was "the performing arts expression" of our local Youth For Christ/Youth Unlimited chapter. It was made up of 40-50 Christian youth from a sizeable area. We sang, danced, and acted on stage to audiences of up to 900 people. Last year we took on a full-scale musical, the musical Godspell. We changed it to make it more accurately represent the Christian view of the gospel of Matthew. I played Jesus More than the performing that everyone saw, however, we were a team that met on Monday nights for rehearsal, worship, and small group time. I've met the majority of my best friends there. I found my accountability partner for the school year there. Last night, I went to the retreat to drop off my little sister, and stuck around for a while. You have to know, retreat is where all the fun happens. Pranking, team games, getting to know the newbies, first rehearsals, and catching up with friends after the summer all happens over the 36-ish hours. Beyond tour, which is when we get on a coach bus and drive all over the place during March Break doing shows, it is the highlight of the year. Last night, though, I was an outsider. I still knew all the people, I still had lots of friends, but I was going home that night and they were staying and getting ready for one of their favourite times of the school year. I stuck around for their first rehearsal together, and listened in on their prayers together. Their clear simple faith and clear simple prayers hit me like none other. I felt truly unworthy to be in their presence.
I miss it like crazy.
Thought of the day:
Why didn't I stay back a year like the cool people?

| Procrastinating like any good university student. I have some problem sets to do for Linear Algebra and a crapload of reading for Technical Communications but... uhh.
I wrote a six-page letter to one of my friends back at home yesterday. I never really realized how much I enjoyed, and needed, having her to talk over stuff with until yesterday.
I met up with a guy who is a friend of a friend and goes to my school today. We're planning to throw the ball some either tomorrow or Thursday. He played on the rep team in my area this year, so I'm anticipating some real catch.
Ugh... girls. I got blindsided by this: Quote: |

This summer has really challenged me to be honest with myself about how I am feeling so that i can in turn be honest with how i express myself with others. I wanted to get together with you before you left for school and talk this over face to face but i kept on chickening out so i guess a facebook message is my cop out.
But here goes nothing.
I feel like i have to tell you that something that i have kept on coming back to since the begining of the summer is my feelings for you.
First off, i would like to appoligize for any and all days when my head was not on straight before i left and for all of the times that i was unclear or vague about my feelings for you.. i know that must have been frustrating.
So now i am going to be completely honest about what i am feeling right now. (sorry i keep on narating things for you but i'm trying to figure out what i'm going to say as i go along)
I find you incredibly interesting and I like the idea of trying to figure you out. Especially because at times i find you so dang confusing! :P I want to try spending more time with you to get to know you better and figure out why I can't seem to get you out of my head. I know that i have feelings for you, however I'm not exactly sure how far they extend and in what direction. But, I want to find out and if you are game, so am I.
Nate, I think that you are a really great guy and if all we ever become is good friends then i will be thrilled. I just needed to let you know where I stand as of right now. If you want to tell me I'm crazy and that i'm way off base sending you something like this then thats fine.. but i would really like to know where you stand on the afore mentioned subject. | It was hard for me to say, because she's a wonderful person(and quite good-looking), but I told her I wasn't interested in starting anything. I mean, I have at least four years of school, I'm definitely not mature enough to take on a serious relationship at this point, and to be honest I don't think she's quite what I'm looking for either. Bah.
Thought of the day:
Why can't I just grow up in peace?

| Hey man, I'm Derek.
Sounds like you're in a situation that a lot of dudes would envy!
Are you looking forward to the Jays series that they may actually have a chance at? I don't know why it is, but I always love watching the Oriole/Jays series.
What do you think of this Purcey?

What do you think of this Purcey? | The Jays have a chance at every series, they just manage to blow it with exceptional consistency. The Orioles and the Jays are always good series to watch - I can't stand watching them play the Yankees, except when there's a brawl
He's got control issues, but he had a good start against Detroit. Jury's still out.
It's my birthday today and it's by far the most boring birthday I've ever had. Tech Comm wasn't too bad this morning though - I had a good idea for my proposal I'm going to have to write. Yeah, I'm going to write about a sports manufacturing company
I have a physics assignment I feel like I should do(due Saturday) and some reading for Tech Comm - and I need to find time to do some research for my proposal too.
I had a good weekend with the family though, and I found time to watch a good chunk of the 2nd season of Big Bang Theory with my friend. That show is by far the funniest I have ever encountered.
I got a computer recording mic for my birthday from my parents so I'm running out of excuses for not uploading my songs. Here's one though: When I try to export Audacity files as mp3's, it comes up with this message:
"Audacity does not export MP3 files directly, but instead uses the freely available LAME library to handle MP3 file encoding. You must obtain lame_enc.dll separately, by downloading the LAME MP3 encoder, and then locate this file for Audacity. You only need do this once."
??????
Plus I still don't have my guitar, but it is in the works. Any suggestions on a good acoustic guitar under $700? I want it to have a plug-in, but I won't be using one most of the time.
Thought of the day:
Birthdays should be holidays. Assignments to be done on birthdays should be an automatic 100%.
