It was a trying year, for sure, but they were a great bunch of guys. Plus we did get that one win!
I joined some elite company today. The current contest standings are:
1. Rainer.
2. OiBoyz
3. Art
4. AlphaSigma
5. thesteve
6. Billgamesh
7. tmlfan123
I feel somewhat insignificant in the presence of so much CGR greatness.
Thought of the day:
How can I dare to mention myself in the same breath as the above esteemed members?

| Bad news today.
My dad was talking to my aunt(his sister) last night and it sounds like my opa(grandfather on my dad's side) is going downhill. He's 83, but still no one likes to see this happen. Apparently he asked my aunt the same question multiple times a few days ago. And once, he and my grandmother were going to go pick some vegetables from the garden after they had tea together. My oma went out after tea and started picking, and my opa came out on the deck and asked if they weren't going to have tea first. He literally had no recollection of an event that happened moments ago. My oma is already a huge worrier, and this is going to drive her crazy. Please just pray.
Thought of the day:
Why?

I can officially apply for modship.
Tomorrow is Friday and that is good with me. I am ready to sleep in.
I've been going on IRC this week and it amuses me muchly.
I need sleep in a bad way.

| I once ventured into the IRC. It was an interesting time. Sadly, I didn't have much time to stay there or I would've spent longer.

| I was away yesterday and fell to 7th on the contest list. I have to maintain a decent level because I think I'm gone for the entire last week of the contest so I'll drop like a stone. Oh the games we play... Quote:

I watched Bad Boys 2 last night with my friend. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are incredibly funny together.
I went to his church this morning, also a CRC. It's about 5 times the size of mine though, and it got me thinking:
Thought of the day:
What are the advantages and disadvantages of big versus small churches?

Put in a solid 8-hour day today and enjoyed it for the most part. I work with fun people, and my job is ridiculously easy for a student summer job. I go to different orchard and vineyards in the area and look around for diseases and pests that will affect their harvests.
Tonight I have profession of faith class and I'm hoping to leave early to get in some drumming time before it starts, so I should go eat something and get on my way.
Thought of the day:
Why do we never realize what a big part of our life a thing is until that thing is gone?

| I dislike working overtime, even though I know I'll be paid for it. I do enjoy going home at the end of the day though. I slept for half an hour when I got back today and it felt amazing.
I work with good people. Today I had a good conversation in the car with my friend who also goes to my church, and she was telling me about how much she hates church. She feels like it's just a bunch of practices and no one actually feels it or cares at all. I gave her at least some stuff to think about. Of course there are always going to be people who are just there to do their time, so to speak, but why should that affect us? It's not ideal, but if we can't worship God unless everyone else is, we're never going to get anywhere. And I actually feel like our church is not like that. Our pastor has done a fantastic job engaging people, and my mom kind of rescued the worship in our church when we moved here. We're currently doing renovation to expand our facilities because of the growth of our church.
Profession of faith Sunday is officially set for August 23rd. I'm somewhat nervous, especially about my testimony, which I kind of feel is somewhat second-rate, but I'm trying to focus on the real reason I'm doing this.
Thought of the day:
I'm gonna miss this church when I go to school in September.

| Working overtime is one of the few things I like about being an hourly employee at my work place. I would much rather be paid overtime for the time I work over forty hours. However, there is a down side in that someone is kind of checking up on my hours.
Oh, and for the sake of helping me understand what you're talking about can you tell me what denomination or church doctrine you align yourself with? I'm just trying to figure out about this "Profession of Faith Sunday".

My good old Dutch roots At my church, when a person does profession of faith they are then considered a full member of the church and can vote on church matters and take communion. Yes, we are infant-baptizers
Played baseball tonight One of the towns in our league combined their two teams and that combined team is going to play in some tournament somewhere sometime. Anyways, I got a call to join a 9-player team made up out of the best from 3 different teams.
I was the only guy called from my team
We beat them though. Our pitcher went seven strong innings with about a dozen strikeouts, and we punched through enough runs to hold them off. I was 2-for-3, one beautiful line drive to straightaway center, and one bouncer back to the pitcher that took a crazy hop. I played some solid second base and right field, and batted seventh behind a bunch of guys who were oh-fer. Ah well they were more "established" guys.
Thought of the day:
I LOVE BASEBALL.

| I kinda remember something like that back when I was turning 13, except this was at a church where I no longer felt comfortable in because of the beliefs and the methods they use. How is your church like, especially when they do 'faith professions'? I kinda wanna compare mine to yours.
