Pitched four innings in the pouring rain before the game was called - we tied 3-3! Now we`re 1-13-1! My only screwup was pitching around the 4 hitter to get at the 5th guy - he hit a triple and knocked in two runs. Right now I`m waiting for my turn to record my part for the performing arts team I was with last year - I have to sing tenor.

Thought of the day:

Why did I take a day off work to do this... it`s past 4:30 already.

Baseball season ends tomorrow with an all day tournament and I'm already sad. It's been a good year on a crappy team. Hopefully the rain holds off.

I saw "Ship of Fire" tonight - I love musicals. They inspire me to sing, which I guess may not always be a good thing.

Thought of the day:

Why are all love scenes in musicals so heartwarming and all love scenes in movies so terribly staged?

Hey sounds like my senior year in baseball: 4-21-1

Ouch. I feel you man.

Yeah we finished our year off yesterday with two losses in the end of the season tournament. For some reason we stop playing at the end of July - who knows why. I pitched seven innings total and was in line for the win in the first game, but we lost it 10-9 in extra innings. I was pissed. Then we lost by eleven runs in the second game. I was really pissed. Especially because we hate that team so much, and they're the only team we beat all year. I didn't have a terrible day, 2-for-3 with a walk in the first game and then 0-for-2 in the second. I beat out the throw from the shortstop for a hit in the first game, then just about beat one from the pitcher in the second game. My only consolation is that the other team from our town(the one that took all the good players) is 2-0 with a game this morning and a chance for the league title.

Thought of the day:

What am I going to do with myself now that I'm done baseball?

Got my reading done JUST in time for profession of faith class - we're looking at doing it either the 23rd or 30th of August. I'm still feeling somewhat unsure about this class, and I'm not entirely sure why. It's hard to explain.

Lots of company coming this week - so I have to get home to entertain.

Thought of the day:

Why can I never remember what I was going to say here?

Just to comment on something you said in the MLB thread, how did you manage to throw over 200 pitches in seven innings? That's almost 30 pitches an inning!

I was counting warm-up pitches at full speed as well as actual game pitches. I would say I average 5 pitches per batter, my team averages one error every two innings, and I average at least one hit or walk every inning. I also pitch to strike batters out more often because of my team's defensive weakness, which involves trying to get batters to chase pitches outside the strike zone. Add everything up and I think it's somewhere around 200 pitches. I sure feel it the next day though...

Ah...gotcha. That makes more sense. I'm sure if the guys in the pros counted all of that they'd get their pitch counts that high as well.

Play ultimate frisbee.

So it's been a while, the most exciting day since I last posted was yesterday, I hung out with a couple of friends all day and we got together with some others to watch Taken at my place. I looove that movie. Liam Neeson is a great actor. Of course there's the whole "end justifies the means" problem in it, but if you can get past that, a truly great action flick.

I'm working tomorrow

Thought of the day:

Why does the weekend always end so soon?

Ultimate frisbee is definitely a ton of fun. I used to play with a local church college group about once a month.

Because time is always against us.

I know what you mean.

Well I'm done work now, looking forward to a fun evening with my parents and sister and brother-in-law. I love my job, but it's a holiday today here in Canada and I appear to be the only one who didn't get it off, besides the cleaning lady at the office. It's a half-hour drive to the office, and I passed six, count them, six, cars on the way. Now I'm feeling considerably better.

Still waiting to hear when my baseball team's end of the year banquet will be - hoping for MVP!

Thought of the day:

Why do I always write four lines of complaining for every one happy line?

What holiday is it?

Good luck with getting MVP. Do you feel like you should definitely get it?
