Feeding the beast would also put Big Baby and Perkins into foul trouble, and that's huge with the thin Celtic bench.

I get the feeling that Stan Van Gundy has lost his team. They don't seem to listen to him or care about what he thinks. The backup center ripped him a couple of weeks ago. Shaq ripped him, saying he chokes in big games. So I don't look for them to start feeding the beast just because Van Gundy says so.

Anyone watching the Refs playing a game against the Rockets?

Oh man, what a crazy night for the NBA. What's everyone's thoughts on the calls tonight? Rafer will likely be suspended for slapping House on the back of the head, but from what I saw House looked like he deserved it and Rafer was just sort of naturally reacting to the elbow House gave him.

Fisher should undoubtedly be suspended for game three in my opinion. He was clearly looking right at Scola when he decided to body check him. The Artest ejection was pretty dumb too, even Kobe said after the game that Artest shouldn't have been ejected. I was glad to see Kobe take a stand for Artest against the refs, but I still think he's playing like a punk.

On a similar note, how does Joey Crawford still have a job as a referee? This guy is clearly a joke of some sort.

Rafer will be suspended... NBA execs are dying for a Celtics-Cavs matchup and will do anything to get it.

Fisher deserves to be suspended. More than one game even... that flagrant was outrageous!

Also that's the second elbow Kobe has thrown this series, he should be fined or suspended but i don't see that happening. Artest shouldn't have been ejected, i think his prior history clouded the refs judgement.

What was up with Joey Crawford pushing Scola btw???

I didn't catch that, but that is ridiculous. Joey Crawford is a hack.

I loved some of Barkley's comments after the game. Especially how he said that if a guy keeps setting dirty picks on you then you should kick him in the balls. It made me think of Kevin Garnett.

Derek Fisher is a _______________________________________________.

The end.

Kobe elbowed Artest in the throat and Artest got called for....what? Was it a shove? I think the refs tried to call a lot of Laker fouls for a little while there to even it out....but it was too late. Bah. But hey.....I'll take a 1-1 tie.

Kobe has been elbowing people in the playoffs since he came into the league.

Which reminds me of Doug Christie punching him in the jaw.

Alston and Fisher are both suspended for one game. Kobe was also given a flagrant 1 for his foul against Artest. I think David Sterns should have to issue a personal apology to Ron.

Why? Did David Stern make the call on the court?

No, he but he (most likely, I'm not 100% sure) makes the call as far as allowing Joey Crawford to officiate in the playoffs even though he has been known to make some of the dumbest calls in the most crucial moments of the biggest games.

I realize Crawford didn't make the bad call against Artest, another official 40 feet away from the action did, but Crawford was the one who threw Artest out for really no reason. It appeared to me that Crawford was pushing Artest away from Bryant, and then Artest made a motion with his arm to indicate that he was mad at Bryant for throwing an elbow in his throat. Crawford, I think, thought this was some sort of threat against Kobe, when clearly it was not.

He shouldn't have been called for that foul, and he shouldn't have been thrown out. Stern shouldn't let hothead refs like Crawford referee in such big games.

The refs are chosen based on how often they made the right calls in the regular season.

Remember, the Refs are union, so the commish can not just decide who does and does not officiate any given game.

Mostly because a conversation between David Stern and Ron Artest would undoubtedly be hilarious.

Something tells me Crawford gets chosen at least partially because he's been doing it for so long.

Something also tells me that if Stern did not want Crawford coaching playoff games, Crawford would not be coaching playoff games. Stern is a very powerful commissioner. He has suspended Crawford before, for a year, I believe.

But, I could be wrong. Maybe the refs union is more powerful than I think.

Well. Cleveland has my hopes up that they can indeed beat the Lakers.
