New York was brilliant to trade up for Sanchez. They got the fans in Radio City Music Hall cheering, which is rare for them.

They have the Bear's first rounder next year from the Cutler trade. Of course, they traded their own first rounder next year to move up a bit in the second round. The way McDaniels is running this team, that pick is going to be in the top 5. Better hope Smith performs like a top 5 pick.

Based on this draft, I almost get the feeling that even McDaniels doesn't believe he'll have a job next year.

Yeah, I was kinda shocked that they would trade a first round pick for a second round pick. I guess it makes more sense since they do have a first rounder next year, but still...

I agree. Shanahan is looking pretty good right now.

When your top seven running backs are on injured reserve, it does tend to hurt your ability to effectively run the football. When you're using guys that weren't good enough to initially make the practice squad, it's tough. That being the case, the Broncos still put up decent numbers running the football last season. Had Young or Torain or Pittman or Hillis remained healthy, we would have had a very productive running game. Young and Hillis both averaged 5 yards a carry, and they will get healthy again. Is that really the most pressing position we need to upgrade? If Moreno performs up to his potential and is an amazing running back, he might average 5-5.3 yards a carry. If we wanted to spend a first-round pick on a cornerback, we should have taken the best one available, Jenkins, at 12.

Taking Sanchez was a questionable move? I'm not sure about that... last year they missed the playoffs because of an injury to Brett Favre, and this year they have no starting QBs. What else were they supposed to do?
I didn't say it was a terrible move, in fact it may be a great move. I still think the verdict is still out on Sanchez. Look who he played for, USC, look at his supporting cast, look at his O-line. I'd rather be heathily skeptical than overly exuberant. With that said, maybe he turns out great and lasts 19 seasons like Favre ok?

If he is in fact the real deal on the field, he's got the looks and personality to become a mega-star in New York with lots of endorsements and media coverage.
This is true. Playing ability aside, his persona does match the culture of New York.

With as many RBs as Denver already has, there was no reason to draft another.

But let's also be realistic here. In week 17, Denver lost by 31 points. The Chargers didn't rush for 289 yards just because Denver lacked a running game. In fact, Tatum Bell rushed for 86 yards (10.8 yd avg) against San Diego that game. I'm not trying to say that Hillis/Pittman/whoever else wouldn't have done better than Bell, but that saying you lost because of your running game when the defense allowed 52 points seems a bit off the mark.

Was anyone else surprised that Graham Harrell went undrafted? Ok yes he was playing in a spread offense which typically puts up huge numbers but still, 134 touchdown passes, an NCAA record. He would have been a possibly great value at a cheap price, in my opinion. Certainly worth a gamble as a seventh round pick. Looks like he will attend the Browns (why the Browns of all teams I'm not sure) mini-camp as a free agent.

Didnt notice that til now,but thats disappointing.Sure he played in a beefed up offense, but its not like he was playing against crappy defenses. If some team doesnt pick him up thats incredible.I mean honestly, hes at least a good value for third string at the very least I feel.

The Raiders will not go with a safety, probably not even a defensive guy, with the number 2 pick. And I dont foresee the first round being that cluttered with defensive players, but maybe thats just me.

Just read also that Greg Carr(6'6"(?) WR from FSU) and Chase Daniels were undrafted also.I think Daniels should try out for the Lions,oh how I would laugh if he out performed Stafford. Now that I think about it I totally believe that Harrell could wind up a kind of Kurt Warner story.Likely?About as likely as Warners story happening, which is very little, but could happen.

I think Daniels already signed with the Redskins.

Defense in the Big 12 hasn't been that great for a while now. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/7...-in-the-big-12

In 2008 the best defensive team in the Big 12 was Oklahoma, and they were 34th in the nation in total defense. That's pretty crappy if you ask me.

The Big 12 doesn't play defense. Thats inevitable when teams score 50+ points a game all the time. (They're not just that good at offense)
