I'm going to be starting another flash website here pretty soon. It'll be for my own personal web design business. Would anyone be interested in my starting a thread about it and updating it with my progress and screen shots? Maybe people interested in the process of flash development?

I'm not sure I understand why you needed to use Flash to do things that could have just as easily been done with CSS. To me, these are the worst kind of Flash sites. It looks nice enough and you executed it nicely enough, it's just that I don't get it. Aside from the flashy (pun intended) transitions between pages, I see no real benefit to the choice of Flash. CSS would have loaded in 0 seconds.

One strange quibble that is worth noting (unlike my dislike of Flash, which isn't really worth noting, but I just can't help myself) is that the page doesn't seem to scroll properly. Some of the pages don't fit in my window, but I can't scroll with the mouse wheel until I move the cursor outside of the Flash part of the page and into the border.

Again...it's just my first attempt at a flash website.

Cool. I mean, it works great, it's just not my cup of tea.

Turns out this issue only occurs at home, on Ubuntu. Something to do with its mouse-focus = mouse-click way of managing windows.

Linux has its quirks with Flash, one reason I don't like it.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. Oh the wonder of pronouns!

I could say the exact same thing, only apply the pronoun in reverse, and it would be true.

My thoughts exactly.

I mean, it's cool you played around with Flash and learned how to use it. And the site is good enough for such an endeavor. But just to echo Nate, a site like that really has no use for Flash. From the user's perspective, It just needlessly complicates what should be a straightforward CSS designed site.

But kudos for taking on learning Flash. It can be quite the daunting task once you really get in to it. Just keep in mind, Flash has a use and purpose. If CSS can do what you're trying to do with Flash, it's probably better to just go with CSS.
