Max Rebo

Hey hey! Its my new band! Mathcore/Grindcore/Alternative/Rock/Screamo/Experimental/Warm-Buttery-Goodness.

No official recordings yet, but the myspace is http://www.myspace.com/maxrebotheband

And for your listening pleasure attached is a rough acoustic demo of a song for this band. Only guitar. No vocals. Done by me so the rest of the band can write for it.

Thanks dude. We've pretty much finished the instrumentation for that song. Our singer is working on some words for it.

Either we'll do a demo in the near future or I'll rip the audio from concert footage, but I'll get some full versions for you guys to listen to soon.

In the meantime, I'm working on acoustic demos, and our vocalist is going to record over those, and I'll get those up on myspace soon.

Ideas are interesting, do you have a super sick drummer?

Our drummer is insanely sick.

We have written a ton of new material and we're almost ready for some shows. We have one song that is incredibly chaotic. We have another that is softer and more melodic. The rest of them lie somewhere between there.

I use delay on a few songs, and I totally forgot to write down exactly what my settings were on each patch on my DL4, so now I get the fun of figuring it out and resetting and labelling my patches.

Once we play a show, I'll put up some concert audio or something.

Also, check our our myspace. Maz (our singer) and I spent six hours coding and designing that. myspace.com/maxrebotheband

Plus there's some more acoustic demos up on there. Done on a hollow electric. Into my computer. Slightly less mistakes this time around. Plus its the final version of the song you already heard. Only, still no vocals, drums, or bass. Also bears.

We're hiring a manager. Our manager will make us big. We hope, at least. This guy has gotten bands like Pierce the Veil and A Day to Remember to where they are today, and apparently he's a good friend of our singer.

We have a set worth of really good material. We're going to be adding some sick covers too. Like, Love Shack, Whip It, and The Imperial March from Star Wars. Also we have a show on the 22nd at a really crappy venue, but it should be sick anyway. Also I'll get someone to videotape it so I can get some audio and video up for you peoples.

Oh, you patient, patient people who have been waiting for recordings.
WE'RE GETTING RECORDINGS DONE TODAY.
Two rough demos. In June or July, we're getting professional 6 song EP recorded, but this will hold us over until then.

Also, look at our MySpace for A CONCERT VIDEO! Yes, its a little dark, but its pretty sweet.

TWO concert videos up now. AND pictures.

We're trying out a second guitarist on Thursday.

We're switching our style up to more of a progressive metal while retaining the same alternative, post hardcore, and grindcore roots we all have. So, our newer stuff is more along the lines of Mastodon, Sky Eats Airplane and The Sound of Animals Fighting, though still being just as intense as we had it before.

We had some recording done for free by my friend Chase from Tree and the Machine (Tree and the Machine on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads). They are an amazing band full of amazing people, so please check them out if you get the chance. The vocalist Justin, bassist Josh, and guitarist Chase of that band used to be in The Manic Masquerade with me, and their drummer Kyle is a really awesome guy. Anyway, Chase recorded "Triple Boot, the Slayer of Tremors" for us, which is the first song we wrote together and the first video you'd see on our page. He's taking a couple of weeks to mix it, but its going to sound amazing for a rough demo. I'll update everyone when its posted.

We're still planning on going into a studio in July to get a six song EP recorded. We're going to write as much material as we can and pick the best songs to appear on this album, and we're all really stoked about that.

That's it for the update right now. God bless!

Good luck on the album, Eric. I'm looking forward to your new demos.

Thanks, John. Since you're looking forward to them, I put them up on the myspace. And by them, I mean it, because we only got one done because our singer wanted to record eight hundred vocal tracks.

THAT'S RIGHT.

Listen.

We realised tonight at practice that we aren't 100% happy with the songs we have written. Two of them we feel are about 25% complete. Two more are so on the same page thematically and musically that we might scrap them and put the riffs together to make a supersong. Only one will remain mostly unchanged, but a few sections will undergo slight reworking.

We realised we rushed them because we wanted to play shows, and we became content with them even though we wanted to do more with them. It will take some time, but we'll try our best to put out demos along the way. Rest assured our debut album is going to be like nothing you've ever heard before. It will change the way you think about music and the way you look at the world around you. It will blow your mind, leaving you feeling calm and serene one minute, then unexpectedly pulling out a hidden third fist from behind its massive, manly beard and punching you in the face. Metaphorically, of course.

We just want to make the best songs we can.

Couple of updates.

First, we're changing our name. To what? No clue. Any ideas?

Second, we have a show in South Florida on the 10th.

Brain Washed Heroes? That one possibility I'd name a band if I had one.
