New bass!

Well, I got some money for my birthday and finally decided to bite the bullet and get a bass.

Got a pretty good deal on a used Warwick Corvette on ebay... should be coming later this week!

Here's a picture from the auction. Any recommendations on care for a natural oil finish like that?

Warwick sells some polish or wax or something for their basses. Don't know what else would work, I'd imagine plenty, but the warwick stuff might be the easiest.

Looks fantastic! Great buy.
I love Warwicks but have never owned one or know too much about them - is it a tung oil finish?

Got it yesterday! Holy cow. This thing is amazing. It looks incredible in person... it plays like a dream. Got the chance to do some recording with it today and it sounds incredible. It is my ideal bass sound. Good warm low end, but with enough high end so the notes are well defined. And it takes to effects and compression VERY nicely.

I'll try to post some clips soon (left my hard drive at a friend's ).

If its tung oil then you can just oil it down for maintenance. If its wax you should probably find out what they reccomend. Warwick's are hot dude congratulations. If they made the Dark Lord as a 5 string i'd be on that like white on rice.

It's the oil finish. I'm gonna buy their stuff, I'm just more curious as to how often I should... I'm thinking once every couple months?

When I had a walnut body with a tung oil finish I did it about once a year.

Ive always oiled every couple months, about the same frequency that I do a full setup and maintenance on my instruments, but its not totally necessary to do it that often. I also gig alot in different enviroments and people get their oily and acidy hands all over my stuff lol. I just figure while im doing everything else.........
