| And...another loss tonight.
I had one of the worst hitting nights I can recall (1-3, single) and we dropped the game 7-4. Our defense overall was solid, but we had a serious lack of timely hitting with multiple innings where we made the third out with two runners on base. |

| Wow...it's almost been a month.
My Saturday team is currently undefeated at 8-0 (I think) with two games to go.
My Monday team is 3-3 with six left.
I have to say that I'm starting to feel a little burned out. I don't think it's as much of a function of playing twice a week as just the toll of unemployed life. Either way, I think my Saturday team has a good shot at getting our third straight championship and I think the Monday team can come on strong in the second half of the season to make the playoffs. |

| Uuuuuuugh. Softball is over for the year for me. Our Fall league was truncated because last year our last two weeks and playoffs were rained out three weeks in a row, then canceled. We played 5 games. We finished 2-3, tied for third. We missed the playoffs on the tie breakers. So lame.
Oh well. |

| Anytime it comes down to tiebreakers it sucks. |

| The thing that kills me is that we were better than both of the other teams. If you took the best players from both teams and made one team out of them, we are still better. Haha.
Oh well. |

| Cruising...
We won 22-2 on Saturday. During the game one of our guys discussed how we've only played one or two focused innings during the fall league. We did hear that a handful of the better teams in the league will be back for the summer, so that will be good. |

| I just found out earlier this week that there are no plans for playoffs for my Saturday league. Because of the rain and what not the LD has decided to try to get everyone 12-14 games and call it a season. Right now we're undefeated and two games up on the second place team with 2-4 games left (I know we have a doubleheader this weekend, not sure about after that). One of those games is against the current second place team, and the other is against a team we've beaten by more than 15 two other times this season. I think we pretty much have this league locked down unless for some reason we have to forfeit a game.
I'm really enjoying my Monday night league right now. We're on the edge of making the playoffs at 5-4. I don't think we're going to do well in the playoffs (if we finish as the 4 seed, our first game would be against the 1 seed from Thursday night), but as far as I can tell this is a big turnaround for a team that went 3-9 in the summer season. |

| I think Saturday league is over. As far as I know, last weekend was our last weekend of games. We ended up receiving a forfeit win. I think our record stands at either 11-1 or 12-1. The one game we lost was actually to the a team that I don't think had won all season. They made some roster adjustments that really improved their team's offense and defense, and we came out really flat.
I have to say that it was a bummer to suit up last Saturday and get to the field only to find out we were going to win by forfeit and that two of the six teams in the league were going to fold with a week left in the season so the LD is just going to call the season as it stands. |

| I just put an order on an Easton CV12 from SALE: Easton Softball Bats & Baseball Bats; Demarini, Louisville Blemished Bats & Closeouts
This bat ran $200 when it was new, but you can pick them up for $50 from that site. Some metal-only leagues allow them since they're a metal barrel with a composite sleeve. I don't know how much I'll use this since I've still got my J2, but for $50, it's a BP bat at worst and a steal if it's good. I've read a lot of good reviews on them, so I'm hoping to at least have picked up another solid bat for my team to use.
Monday night team is 7-4 now. We won our last game via forfeit. I don't know what happened exactly, but no one from the team we were supposed to play even bothered to show up. They were the second place team and beat us by 8 earlier in the season so it would've been a tough game had that been there. |

| Haven't tried out the CV12 yet. Monday night league is over. We finished the regular season 7-5, and knocked out one of the #1 seeds before bowing out in the semis.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my season's performance. I hit 9 HRs and had another 9 ground rule doubles. Overall I batted .882 (30/34). Ah the benefits of being a left-handed hitter on a short porched RF.

| Our manager could only 6 players to commit, so we aren't playing this spring. Sucky. Hopefully summer. Also, I am thinking about seeing if I can join my girlfriend's church's team. Because, let's be honest, it's pretty much my church now, too. |

My biotech league starts up in the 5th. There are 17 (I think) on the roster. Not sure how that is supposed to work. I understand wanting extras in case we need backups, but only getting 2 at-bats a game sucks, too.
I'm not sure what's going on with the church team I play on yet. I heard the league might change fields again and that the church I at for might enter two teams instead of just one, but that season doesn't start until mid/late May. |

| We've now played two games in the spring season. There was a rain out last Monday, and we're probably going to get rained out tomorrow (it's currently raining).
We lost our first game 25-15. The team we played against hits well, but isn't great on defense. Unfortunately we don't hit as well as they do, and our defense was worse than theirs was.
We won our second game 16-5. I had no idea until today that the score was that spread out. I thought it was a lot closer throughout the game.
My defense has been really shaky. I made a couple outstanding plays on fly balls during the second game, but I'm booting routine grounders. I always joke that this is what happens when you put an outfielder at SS, but they will probably leave me there because I command the defense well and have a strong arm.
My batting isn't starting off as well as I'd like either. I went 2-2 in the first game, but 1-3 in the second. One of those was an FC on a monster line drive that the 1st baseman managed to knock down. The lone hit I had was my last at-bat. I hit a HR that was probably one of the hardest balls I've hit in the Monday night league. I'm just not doing well at leaving my defense on the field, so when I come up to the plate I'm stuck thinking about how I need to make up for my shoddy defensive play. |

| I just picked up a pair of Easton VRS Pro IVs for $20. Not sure if I'm going to really like them, but hard to pass at that price. |
