10 - Amazing CD. Everyone should own it.
9 - Among the best of the year.
8 - One of the top CDs around, but could have been improved in a few places.
7 - Not a bad CD, but could have been better in a number of places.
6 - Pretty good for it's genre, but overall it's only acceptable.
5 - Decent CD, but only if you're a big fan of this genre.
4 - If you love this band, you'll like this CD. Otherwise, probably not.
3 - If you're a fan of this genre, the CD is barely acceptable.
2 - If you're a big fan of this band, this CD is tolerable.
1 - Even if you like this band, you won't like this CD.

| I gave it a 9. Despite being released six months ago, it is still getting regular play in my rotation. I don't know if I like it quite as much as their first, but it's good. I think it's because the first one seemed a little more rock and this one has a few more ballads. Regardless, it's a great CD and they didn't hit the sophomore slump like so many bands.

| 8/10. I'm probably one of the few to have this opinion, but I honestly like End Of Silence a moderate amount better than this. I just liked the sound better on End Of Silence, all the strings really aren't very enjoyable to me, plus I think some of the songs (like Death Of Me) take way too long to get into. This is still a great CD though, Michael Barns hasn't even been going for that long, but I already think he's one of the best Christian rock vocalists right now. I highly recommend getting the Deluxe Edition, Overtake You and Forever are definitely worth it. |

| This is one of my current favorite rock albums right now, right up there with Welcome to the Masquerade, Phenomenon, and Collide. It has more polish and poise than their first album, and yet still manages to bring the head-banging awesomeness when called on. The one problem with this album is that, aside from Death of Me, there really is no stand-out track. Don't get me wrong, when listened to altogether, Innocence and Instinct is great, especially if you rearrange the bonus tracks and put them in the middle of the track listing instead of at the end. The problem is, my favorite songs by RED are still Already Over and Breathe Into Me, and nothing on this CD manages to top either one of those.
Overall, an easy 8/10.

Overall, an easy 8/10. | Your comment pretty much reflects my opinion. I agree that nothing on the new album tops Breathe Into Me and Already Over. Still a great album though. I don't see how anybody who enjoyed the first album could be disappointed with Innocence and Instinct. 9/10 |
