Hardware Kits for Sale

I've been building pedals for a few months now and decided to start selling hardware kits. If you've never tried building pedals I highly recommend it! If you've got time and patience, you can build your own quality boutique level pedals. Check out www.buildyourownclone.com for ideas of how this works and how you can start building pedals.

A great starter project would be simple A/B box to switch between two amps, have a tuner out, mute switch, or two input instruments to one amp. Kits for those are below.

This is all the hardware needed to build most pedals. Switches, Jacks, LED, pulldown resistor, wire, LED bezel, wire, and velcro. Just add enclosure and PCB/Vero/Eyelet! Including EXTERNAL MOUNT DC Jacks to make it easy to switch guts from pedal to pedal, enclosed SWITCHCRAFT jacks, and CLIFF 3PDTs. These 3PDTS are easy to solder and the best in the business. Try to price this stuff anywhere else. You won't even come close to this and you can get it all in one easy place w/ a ridiculously quick shipping time (normally 2 days).

No promises, but as a general rule If I receive your order before noon (central time) I will ship that day. If not, order will ship next day. Looks like most orders take about 2 days to arrive. Only to U.S. customers. Contact me for Int'l and I'll see if we can work something out.

GREEN HARDWARE KIT (no battery) - $12 Shipped
(1) CLIFF 3PDT Switch
(1) 2.1mm EXTERNAL MOUNT DC Jack
(2) Enclosed Switchcraft Mono Jacks
(1) Chrome LED Bezel
(1) 5mm Waterclear LED (orange, green, blue, red, white, yellow, or U/V purple) w/ resistor
WIRE: Blue, Green, Red, Black - 2 cubits of each color
Optional: Strip of Velcro

A/B KIT - $14 Shipped
(1) CLIFF 3PDT Switch
(1) EXTERNAL MOUNT DC Jack
(3) Enclosed Switchcraft Mono Jacks
(2) Chrome LED Bezel
(2) 5mm Waterclear LED (orange, green, blue, red, white, yellow, or U/V purple) w/ resistors
WIRE: Blue, Green, Red, Black - 2 cubits of each color
Optional: Strip of Velcro

A/B/Y KIT - $20 Shipped
(2) CLIFF 3PDT Switch
(1) EXTERNAL MOUNT DC Jack
(3) Enclosed Switchcraft Mono Jacks
(3) Chrome LED Bezel
(3) 5mm Waterclear LED (orange, green, blue, red, white, yellow, or U/V purple) w/ resistors
WIRE: Blue, Green, Red, Black - 2 cubits of each color
Optional: Strip of Velcro

To order: Please email me at rockthedox@rocketmail.com. Include what kits you want, the quantity, and LED color. If you want velcro let me know if you want the male (sticky) side or the female (soft) side. I have 45 of these to sell before I reorder. Also, include your mailing address. You can paypal the total of your order to the same email address, and I will send you an order confirmation before shipping.

Operators are standing by.

Hey shane, I'm a little confused. For this green hardware kit you're selling, where would i be getting the PCB I need for, say, a fuzz pedal?

I recommend build your own clone or general guitar gadgets for a start. After that, learn to read schematics and build your own.

Ok, time to get this up and rolling.

For the next 10 people that buy a kit(s) I'll throw in one of each different color LED and resistors.

That's 7 waterclear LEDs! Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, White, AND U/V Violet. Those are .40 each at PPP. This way you get the parts you need and a little extra stock to play around with.

I'm emailing you as I type this. Well, kind of. It's hard to type and email on two different browsers at once. You get the idea.

I've already had 5 orders. Halfway there. Step up and get your 7 FREE LEDs w/ your order. (That's a $2.50 value by the way). I can take 5 more orders for the LED giveaway!

I know! How sweet is that? I had a guy email me this morning for an A/B/Y kit because he randomly found my post on another forum off of a google search for A/B/Y pedals. Awesome.

I've still got tons of these! Any other takers? If you haven't tried your hand at building pedals I HIGHLY recommend it. I started 2 months ago with zero soldering experience and no knowledge of electronics and now I'm putting together boutique level clones and circuits for way under retail price. Why pay $200 for a new boutique pedal when you can build one for $30? Try this, you won't regret it.

PCB, enclosure, and whatever pots you would need for the build (but, that kinda goes with the PCB thing). If you haven't checked out BYOC or General Guitar Gadgets yet, definitely do that. There's a lot of great material (especially at BYOC) and lots of different PCBs and kits to choose from.

I haven't shipped to Canada yet. I've got a pending order (waiting on Echeck to go through). I can make you the same deal I made him. Shoot me a paypal for the normal $12 shipped and if shipping costs more, you shoot me a paypal for the difference. Offhand, I think it would be about $1 or so difference based on the USPS calculator, but I can't be sure until it ships.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I can take 3 MORE ORDERS WITH 7 FREE LEDS. That's one each of: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, white, and purple in addition to what already comes with your kit.

I've still got about 15 of these kits to sell before I reorder. Version 2 will come with heatshrink tubing, different resistors for LED brightness options, and Enclosures! I just need to move these last 15 kits so that I can afford the enclosures! Thanks guys.

Well, Josh took the last order with Free LEDs but I still have about 10 more kits available before I reorder.

If you're interested in building your own tap tempo, I also put together a few kits together for that. Comes with SPST momentary switch, mono jack, and wire. All you need is something to put it in. Simplest build you could possibly imagine. Just connect wire from input jack to switch. Save yourself some money on the FS5U. $6 shipped.

Next round of kits will come with an option for an enclosure, but I really need to move these last 10 kits to be able to afford a reorder. Start building your own pedals, you won't be disappointed.

Thought you might like some pictures. I used an A/B switcher I picked up for $10 off a guy on the internet as an enclosure, but all the parts are from snizzle. Works great, looks great, and was a good deal.
