| When I write my narratives for scholarships, I like to start with something exciting/mysterious. These are some introductions I have written for some of my narratives, maybe they can inspire/help you.
As I walked into the well-lit room, the unfamiliar language posted along the walls caught my eye. The symbols and characters, mystifying and mysterious as they happened to be, sent a shiver down my spine. I sat in the desk in the back of the class with my head in my book, trying to understand the complexities of long division.
As the first weeks of summer past, unseen episodes of Dr. Who were viewed, my bag of potato chips seemed to become vacant of chips, and the dent in my couch cushion seemed to expand faster than it could be fluffed, my life seemed to be relaxed, laid back, and completely boring. I told myself that my pace would pick up after I started to work in a few weeks, but what would I do until then? If I continued at the rate I was at, I wouldn’t gain anything but a few pounds. |
