UNC was just too much for them. Outmatched at pretty much every position. To me, it seems like it would take a pretty huge effort by MSU to beat them. | I really think it was the way they approached it. Maybe their nerves got the best of them, maybe they got frustrated, but they played like they were going to lose. Aside from the first minute of the game, they were missing loose balls, taking terrible shots and missing them, and just not playing very smart. I really actually do think Villanova could have, at any point, made it a game if they got it back together mentally, but they never did. They didn't play at all like the team that beat Pitt.

Is anybody else noticing the fantastic job Kalin Lucas is doing man-to-man on Lawson though? He's only made two or three field goals - almost all of his points have come from the line.

| I had a lot of fun watching the game with my brother and his wife...on Franklin Street...with a bunch of crazy UNC fans. We even ventured down to the party zone where the bonfires start up.
Much fun indeed. I am going to miss watching these guys...I really am.
Go Heels. |

Go Heels. | Your stupid team made for such a boring championship... I didn't even watch the second half. Congrats on the win; UNC was just amazing.

Man. UNC played like....a bunch of desperate seniors. Haha....they were amazing. Just crazy good. Congrats to them.
I think UConn would've matched up with them better than MSU. |

| Yeah... but I'm getting sick of blaming it on the other team. Gonzaga, OU, Villanova, MSU... all good teams that played like crap. Part of it is nerves, but most of it was that UNC was doing something to their heads from the beginning of the game on. They weren't just playing better basketball; they embarrassed these teams because they were beating them up mentally. Even when UNC would slip up, all these teams just played like they were going to lose. And UNC played like they knew they were going to win.

| Congrats to Roy Williams and UNC. Just goes to show how a team can regroup, and recover from a disappointing finish last year, to accomplish their goals this year. All the players that came back, were on a mission, and today can say, "Mission Accomplished!" |

They were deserving, but the turn overs early on were just unforced stupid stuff by MSU.If they had got a better start and some confidence early on it wouldve been better.Iam happy an ACC team won,a big east team did not,and a lowly big ten team handled 2 of the big east 'powerhouses' almost perfectly.Good season.

Ty Lawson has seven steals in the first half. |

Btw,what was with the Lawson snubbery in the awards department?I felt he was always the difference making and his stats proved it,but Ellington got the final four MVP?I didnt get it.

Not that Lawson didn't play great defense, but that one stuck in my mind pretty sorely.

If memory serves me correctly...he averaged 20 points a game through the whole thing. Ellington really stepped it up over the last month or so.
And I agree...MSU did make some really bad passes right at the beginning of the game. |
