| Pedal Train Well... I found out it's probably cheaper to buy a pedal board than make one. Seeing as I already have enough power to power my pedals, I just need something that is gonna manage my pedals and have a coherent wire/cable running system as well as cart around all my longer cables and drop cords etc. I think the Pedal train will be great for this but I wanted to know if anybody here has used one and their thoughts on it. I want the PT2-SC. I don't need or want the hard case because it's heavy and it doesn't have the nice pockets for my cables and extension cords... so thoughts?

| I think the whole build or buy debate can be swayed either way. I'm actually working to build one using an old suitcase I picked up this weekend. I got two cases and a bag for like $3.99 at a local thrift store. I'm going to build the board to fit inside of it.
I'll be sure to post pics and steps when I get around to starting and finishing it.

| I've had 3 Pedaltrains: the original (which I sold to BSPE), the PTpro, and the PT2. I started on the original and upgraded to the PTpro to have more room. Had that for over a year and decided to downgrade because it was too heavy and I just had too much stuff.
Just traded it a couple of weeks ago for the PT2 w/ Soft Case that you're talking about. Unless you gig A LOT and plan on it constantly being thrown in and out of trucks/vans and flying with it, definitely go with the softcase. I've got a friend with the PTpro and hardshell case and it's got to weigh almost 100 pounds. Ridiculous. I freakin love pedaltrain. Lightweight, durable, and looks fantastic. I power everything with a 1spot.
I'm saving up for a pedaltrain mini for my acoustic/bass rig. You can't go wrong with pedaltrain.

Works like a dream.

#7 | | Algebraic! | I've been thinking about the PT2-SC for awhile now, I just haven't had the extra cash to pick one up. When I go with a pedal board, I'm either going to go with the PT2-SC or one of the Rondo cases. I did the "build your own" once, but apparently I didn't pick a good suitcase/overall design because the thing was a major hassle and I ended up junking it after awhile. |

| I built my own as well but I hated it. Now I use a Gator Pedal Tote Pro and it's awesome. |

| Built one: http://www.christianguitar.org/forum...d.php?t=101168 Used it for a long time, eventually cutting it down to a smaller size.
Bought a pedaltrain jr., stuck the pedal power underneath, and it's been great. Easy to rearrange things (maybe too easy, as I find myself swapping things in and out pretty often). I could never find a bag to fit my homemade board, and I really like the way you can route cables with the pedaltrains.

| Pedaltrain all the way. I have the PT-2 and have done fairly extensive flying with it, and have had zero issues with it. Just another resounding endorsement here. |

I also plan on just possibly building the rack and laying it inside there that way I can pick it up out of it and set it down instead of building it into the suitcase. Quote:

I figure I'll try building my own because it's cheap. If I junk it I could always sell it on Craigslist for about the same amount I'll have in it so there won't be any harm done.

| Just got a pedaltrain myself and love it - I used a gatorpedal tote for a while, then upgraded to the pedaltote pro, and the thing was just way to big. Got the pedaltrain that GC is selling with a hard case for 119.
Having the slots in the board is just awesome - so much easier to keep things neat and tidy.

#15 | | Algebraic! | So...I guess I'm a member of the Pedaltrain club now too
I dropped a half-serious bid on eBay a little over a week ago and ended up winning. $91 inc. shipping for a brand new PT-2SC.
My only issue with it on arrival was that there is some stuff rattling around inside of the board, and I don't think those things are going to come out. It's annoying, but it doesn't change the functionality of the board at all.
The other thing about it is that it is simultaneously larger and smaller than I expected. It's definitely big, but I did not anticipate how much space my pedals would take up. I'll post some pictures once I get everything mounted and cabled up. |
