#2 | | Cool enough Administrator | I am so excited for the Giants this year. I already have tickets to Oakland @ San Francisco on June 13, which is the 1989 20 year World Series reunion.
I hold no illusions. The Giants are not a great team. They are not on the level of the Phillies, etc. But winning the West is a realistic goal. They are better than they were last year, that much is sure. And I love watching this young team play. |

| I'm definitely ready for the Rangers. Probably the best chance they've had in a while to compete for the division. That being said, I'm willing to bet they finish .500 with the best hitting and worst pitching. Again. Either way, they are fun to watch.
As far as the whole MLB goes, it seems to be a wide open year. I'll be interested to see how the Yankees do with their ridiculous payroll. Hopefully bad.

| Well I'm gonna resurrect this thread...
I'm really excited for this year. Obviously 2008 was the best season of my lifetime for me, and although I dont think the Phils will repeat, they definitely have a very good chance. With the Braves improving, I think it's going to be a four-team race in the NL East this year, which should make for some exciting and nerve-racking baseball down the stretch again. I can't wait til Sunday.

| Dude, I'm so excited for baseball this year! I think the Tigers have a good shot to bounce back from a pretty horrendous (considering their expectations) season last year.
The Mariners on the other hand..who knows.. perhaps the Rays of this year |

#6 | | Cool enough Administrator | I am so excited... The Giants have an amazing rotation and an improved team in general. I'm not thinking world series or anything, but NL West title? It will be a great battle! |

| Iam disappointed that John Smoltz left for the Red Sox,and that the Braves extended injury prone Chipper Jones through 2012,but I will once again root for them.I think our rotation is gonna be one of the better ones in the East, with Vasquez,Derek Lowe, that Japanese guy,and Jair Jurrjens from last year. Our outfield should be interesting, but we have our left field platoon ready with Garrett Anderson and probably Matt Diaz.Center field is wide open between 3 young guys that all have certain upsides about them.(I personally like Schafer(sp?))And I believe Francoeur has straightened out his swing and will be good to go.And in Moylan,Gonzalez, and Soriano in the bullpen and its looking pretty good.

| Well last night was a great way to start the season...
Derek Lowe was amazing. The Phils had no chance. And Brett Myers started off terrible...again...his location was horrible in the beginning until he settled in. Still hoping for a good year from him in his contract year. And the Phils bullpen looked really good, especially when Lidge made Schafer look silly.
Disappointing game, but man is it great to talking about baseball again.

| Iam greatly encouraged.Allowing 0 runs to that Phillies line up in 8 innings...thats impressive.Francoeur had a good start and that should help his confidence and how about the young kid Schafer? Not a bad start to his career.Gonzalez was a little shaky in the 9th,but he'll settle in.Our rotation could be pretty darn good this year and the bullpen is looker stronger than last year.Go Braves!
