#106 | | Algebraic! | Exciting day for Padres fans. Jake Peavy declined a proposed trade to the Chicago White Sox, and there's going to be a Gwynn back in a Padres' uniform...Tony Gwynn Jr., that is. |

Again. *sigh*
I was at Kauffman for the Royals and Indians today! I had a great time. Zach Greinke pitched well, but the bullpen got rocked for 4 in the 8th. Still, had a great time. |

| Brave take on the Jays this weekend.Going up against Halladay tonight, yikes.Im hoping for 2 of 3 and Im not holding my breath for the game tonight.I do think the Braves have one of the toughest interleague schedules out there. We play the Jays,Yankees, and Red Sox(6 times) and I hope that doesnt kill us in the long run.

| WOW!Braves beat the Jays 1-0!Kawakami pitched a gem,8 innings,3 hits,no runs, with Gonzalez picking up the save!We could sweep this with our 2 best pitchers up next,Lowe and Jurrjens. This is exciting!

Proves how bad our hitting is. It was fun seeing the Big Unit back in Seattle for whats probably the last time of his career, though.

There's no way you should get two quick outs, then give up five runs. If Wakamatsu uses a different reliever there (Sean Kelley springs to mind), we might have that game. I have no idea why he continues to use Lowe in those situations.
Either way, though, that was a fun series. Especially beating the Big Unit in game one. |

#116 | | Algebraic! | Let's be honest here.
Padres have won 9 games in a row...I'm definitely excited about that. Probably won't last much longer, but it's good to see this team playing at potential. |

Griffey made an appearance in place of Johjima in the bottom of the 9th, with the bases loaded, and two outs. He made a big hit, but it was shy of the grand slam. It was crazy in Safeco, though.
BTW, if anyone wants cheap seats at Safeco that aren't the bleachers, I highly recommend section 332. Excellent view of home plate, I really liked it. But every seat in the house isn't that bad, it's a wonderful stadium.
It's nice winning the 5-4 game though. Good to know we can win a game where the opponent scores four runs. Our run differential is terrible, and our record, even though it's below .500, looks good given the run differential (170 runs scored, 205 runs against, -35 difference). The Angels have also allowed 205 runs, but since they've also scored 211 runs (41 more than us), they're looking at a 23-20 record instead of the 21-24 record we're sitting on. Our starting pitching line up is growing on me (Vargas looked great on Friday night), we just need more offense. Only two guys are batting just over .300, I think. |

| Braves swept the Jays!Jurrjens didnt get the win,but pitched great! Our offense seems to be doing well if Chipper and Escobar can get/stay healthy and Mccann seems settled in with his glasses. Now to San Fran to start a west coast trip.So not fair though,Kris Medlen-rookie going up against Lincecum-menace?That could go ugly!(Well, not for Art maybe...)

| The Jays have taken a beating this past week. Now we see what they're really made of.
