| Haha. The Giants are playing like absolute crap. Lincecum has no command... and the Giants just lost 11-1 to the Dodgers. Ugh. Things need to improve soon. Swept by the Padres? Disgusting. |

You choose the team that's closest to you. In my case (being a San Diegan) that means I root for the Padres. In Art's case, that means it's a toss up between the Giants and the A's. Most of the people I've met from Northern California and northern Nevada are either Giants, A's or Mariners fans.

| I thought this blog had a great take on the Swisher incident: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big...urn=mlb,155472
"...he's ahead in the Yankees' Quadruple Crown race: batting average (.450), home runs (three), RBI (10) and ERA (0.00). Is he the greatest Yankee ever?"

Braves our looking good,it'll be nice to see how this starting rotation does against other teams, but so far its looking good. And minus one collapse by our bullpen it too is looking pretty good.Still cant get over Jordan Schafer, hes fun to watch.

Third largest state by area in the Nation... and the South and North are entirely different places. Of those 5 teams, three were 10 hours away by car. It is worse than that for many people. In my particular circumstance, where I lived (Lake Tahoe area) only had Giants games. They were the first team I ever saw, and I fell in love with them. They are definitely the more popular of the two teams here in Northern California.
Now, I have also become a fan, though not nearly as much, of the A's. Their AAA team (2 time defending AAA Champions) play 15 minutes from me, and I get to see them a few times a year. And Oakland is actually closer (and cheaper) than San Francisco.
It probably did not hurt that I was already a San Francisco 49ers fan, as well. I got that from my grandpa.
But really, there is a whole lot of geographical oddities in play. Most of the people around Sacramento seem to be Raiders fans, whereas where I used to live, though farther away, was definitely 49er territory.
Of course, rule #1 is that if you are a true Northern Californian, you will dislike ALL teams in ALL sports from Southern California, especially if the words "Los" and "Angeles" are involved in any way. It seems to be similar for Southern Californians and "San Francisco".
But yeah, only two of the 5 teams are anywhere near where I live. |

| How about them JAYS haha. Seriously though they need to reseed the AL its too hard for the Jays or any other team in the AL east to make playoffs. I think once the pitching rotation returns to a more solidified position next year the Jays will have a great chance to take it Their young hitters are really promising. |

6-3 after an eleventh inning loss to Minnesota last night. I didn't see the result of the Baltimore game but we're at least tied for first. I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
The entire explanation for how well the Jays have been doing consists of two players: Adam Lind and Travis Snider. I've said for years that all the Jays needed was a few consistent lefties to break up Hill, Rios, and Wells. Well they've been getting that production from these two and it's translated to a good start. Unfortunately, with Roy Halladay the only MLB-caliber starter on the roster after Jesse Litsch went down, this can't last. If Dustin McGowan and Shaun Marcum were healthy, I'd actually be excited about the Jays.

| Happy Jackie Robinson day..
It was a sad day in Tigertown the other day, for those who haven't heard, Mark Fidrych passed away at 54. He might not mean as much to other people, but I was saddened to hear the news. |

They've already done this. The Tigers used to be in the east. Besides, it wasn't really until last year that the Rays made an impact on anyone. And who would you want instead? |
