Maybe luck isn't quite the word that fits for everyone. I think the point that we're trying to convene is that pitchers of all calibers, on the right night, can have amazing, even perfect, games. Yes, this is a combination of hitters not hitting, fielders playing amazing defense and the pitcher throwing strikes and lasting nine innings, but if any of these things aren't present, then a perfect game is impossible and a no-hitter is unlikely.

Good, I agree now that we're on the same page.

Twins come so close!

Denard Span, why?! Twins almost stole it from the Sox.

Matt Cain got hurt early but the Giants still took game 3 from the Padres... now 11 games over .500! Looking for the four game sweep tomorrow with Zito on the mound. He took a no-hitter into the 7th two games ago, and has be just plain nasty lately.

I like Zito, Although quite a feat to be 11 games over .500 ; They are in the NL :P

Yeah... the NL West... which has the team with the best record in baseball, the team with the second best record in the NL, and the team that is currently in second place in the wild card standings.

Surprisingly the NL West isn't too bad so far: The Dodgers, Padres, and Rockies are a combined 26-19 against AL opponents.

*puts foot in mouth.

haha. The Giants swept the A's at home, took 2 of 3 on the road, and swept the Rangers. They aren't half bad.

The NL West is really competitive this year. East Coast media (ESPN) tends to ignore us because our games end after those guys' deadlines pass.

This also could be to the widespread belief that the NL is less competitive than the AL.

True, but the NL Central and NL East don't get the same disrespect that the NL West does.

The AL East has been the best division in the league for some time now... as my Jays are continually re-discovering

Tell me about it, and to make Blue Jays baseball worse, that ding dong of an owner Riccardi is now listening to offers to trade the Doc! Arguably the best pitcher in the majors, he is the LAST player they need to trade! Some days i'd just like to kick Riccardi in the butt.
Now, I like Wells and I love Rios, but they simply aren't playing up to their potential (especially Rios) and as much as I hate to say it, I think they need to start looking for people to trade with. They are outstanding outfielders, but thats just not enough.

Yeah, the Twins make the playoffs, but they end up playing the red sox or yankees, which they can never compete with. October is so disenchanting for me.

Twins making the playoffs???? (check my location)

Brandon Inge is in the all star game! WOOT!

I'm pretty sure everytime the Tigers score it least 5 runs they win. Their pitching has been that good lately...

Same thing goes for the Mariners, except its been that way all season long. My two teams could really use a bat right now...
