GarageBand '09: Amp Models?

I was browsing the Apple website the other day, and decided to check out what was new in the iLife '09 suite. Now, I don't use most of iLife, so I wasn't planning on buying it, I was just curious as to what was new.

Then I noticed this!:

http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband/#guitar

Now, for $80 I don't expect much, but if the models are decent they will open up a ton of possibilities. For example, I love my halfstack, but when I just want to bring a guitar to a friends house to mess around it's just not practical. Enter GarageBand. A POD XT Live was $400 last time I looked, and that's alot of cash for something you're not going to use often/not really thrilled about.

$80 would be more reasonable, if the models are decent.

Anyone tried this yet?

Hasn't GarageBand always had amp models, or am I wrong? I know its at least had a lot of effects and I'm pretty sure amp models were part of the passage. I was never that impressed with them although if you took the time to tweak them I'm sure you could get something decent.

I think it had a synthesizer for the "virtual" keyboard, but I don't remember if there was a way to set it up to work with a real guitar.
