| BMW vs Audi I just finished watching Transporter 3 and was wondering if you guys think a real race would practically end like that in the movie. How and why?

| In the first movie he drives a 1999 BMW 735i, in the third he drives an Audi A8 with a W12 engine |

| Ah, I just searched for transporter 3 videos on youtube, and the only cars I saw were the A8 and a Mercedes E-class. No BMW in sight.
And in real life, I'd say a race between any of those cars would be largely useless, as they are all the large flagship-models of their respective companies. It would come down to driver, and driver alone. |

| Any of them. Any big Audi, any big Benz, and any big Bimmer. All are going to make big power, and all are going to be massively heavy. Although it seems that the current 7-series BMW is available with a maximum of 400 horsepower, while the others are generally going to be significantly higher than that...
Edit: After a bit of research, it seems the Audi is going to be producing somewhere around 450 horses. With that much car to haul around, my money is on the Benz. Although now it depends on what sort of E-class you're talking about. If you're using an E320, then it will suck. If you're using an AMG car like an E55 or E63, game over.

| the new CTS-V spanks both the BMW M5 and the MB (can't remember the model, but it's the equivalent) in both a drag race & around a real left & right turn track.
Audi & BMW & Merc are going to be very expensive to maintain & repair. I'm guessing that out of the three I'd pick BMW for the less frequent breakage/maint, and the slightly cheaper costs.
Realistically though, I am currently in love with the caddy. |

Anyways, also the handling options could be key, idk and i don't care to look it up, but does an S8 come with awd? that might help it along.

Unfortunately, that pretty much goes for any of those super-sedans. Yeesh. The only one I can come close to liking is the CLS.... Quote:

| im with redbaron, i would go w/ the cts-v (even if it is not in the same class as the bmw 7, A8, or the mb s series). i guess we will have to wait for the sts-v to come out. the cts-v is a freak of nature car...and would spank the bmw m5, mb e55, and the s6...and it looks really good.

| I don't know, I just don't like the look of the CTS, or really any of the new Cadillac products at all. If I ever wanted a super-sedan, it would be something German. Probably based on a Mercedes-Benz product, and probably based on the CLS or perhaps E class. Although the new C class looks beautiful, even if it is a bit under the class of cars we're discussing. I bring you, the Brabus 'Rocket.' It's a CLS, but different.
730 horses, 974 ft/lbs at only 2100 RPM, and a 227 mph top speed. It will do 0-120 in 10 seconds, and 0-186 in just under 30.
However, I think the Brabus 'Bullit' looks better. Same engine, smaller car. (C class) Performance is similar, but top speed is down to 223. However, acceleration improves. 0-186 now comes in only 24.5.
And yes, these are both obscenely expensive... but hey. If I was going to buy an uber-sedan......
Because a really nice Lotus Exige waits in the price range of the Caddy. |

| Gorgeous car. I do think the people at Brabus do those too..... So if you wanted, you could have an SL65 Black, with 730, and 974 ft/lbs.
Now that.... is just not necessary. |

Now that.... is just not necessary. | As a corny line in a car mag i read recently "with enough torque to alter the rotation of the earth"
Guess they have to make up for heavier cars somehow....
Im sure that will get you started on Loti.

| Indeed. Top Gear called the torque "enough for a medium sized aircraft carrier." |
