Kindle 2

http://tinyurl.com/kindle2yaaa

Kindle 2 has arrived. What are everyone's thoughts on it? Would you use it?

I personally wouldn't mind having one for long trips or when i don't want to carry around a lot of books. But i do like physically owning my books. It would be great if real books also came with a free electronic copy so you wouldn't have to buy it twice.

Also the price is kind of high for me to actually consider getting one. I mean i love books but not for $350+

it would drive me crazy. I hate reading stuff on the screen. plus, I just love books. like, not only do I love to read the contents, I really love the books. I collect old ones. (the older, the better.)

it's definitely not the right product for me, although I'm sure many people will find it handy.

read more books! listen to more classical, jazz and world music! play more other stringed instruments!

The QWERTY keyboard makes the Kindle a bit large for my taste. I'd prefer the touchsceen Sony PSB-700 if not for the loss in image quality. I also don't like the fact that Kindle locks you in as much as it does. It won't run most competing ebook format and kindle seems to go out of its way to make sure you cannot copy/convert the Kindle ebook format.

Want to leave Kindle? You loose your kindle ebooks. Amazon gives up on Kindle? You can't transfer them to a new ebook reader.

@Beanbag,

Reading off e-paper is not like reading off an LCD. It very much has the same visual quality as a book (Sony PSB-700 excepted)
