Thumbs up New Audio for my '86 325es

So I used to frequent this forum, but it has been awhile so I thought I'd catch up.

I purchased a 1986 BMW 325es 5sp in september, it was all original, nice interior, etc.
The first thing I did was take it to my local mechanic who checked it all out, we replaced a few older hoses, but all-in-all the car has been very well maintained and runs great.

I replaced the stock 14" hub-caps with some new 15" rims with Yokohoma tires and that's about it as far as mechanics (when I get more $$ in the future I want to do more)

I spent all last weekend ripping out the interior to install a new audio system; 1986 was just not a good year for car stereos...

So here's what went in:
Alpine IDA-X303 Digital Media Receiver
4x Polk 5251 5.25" Component system
-Powered by a Profile AP740 60W x 4 Amp
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" Sub
-Powered by a Kenwood KAC-7202 @ 460W

Anyway, the system sounds pretty freaking good, and install wasn't too terrible. Overall I guess I would say that I was expecting a little bit more bass response out of the components; maybe I need to spend a little more time tuning, or maybe I can't expect much out of 5.25" speakers. They are very clear and articulate with no noticeable distortion at very high levels, so I'm very pleased with that.

The sub sounds good too, but I wish the response was a little less "boomy" and a little more punchy. Would adding a little more fiber-fill to the enclosure help with this?

Hopefully I'll get some pics up in the next few days.

what size box? are there any ports? etc. All that goes into how tight the sub is versus sheer boomy volume.

How do you have the crossovers set on the polks? Frankly i would probably not want anything <100hz out of a 5.25 speaker anyway, and nothing >80hz from a 12" sub, so you'll have a bit of a hole but it's actually a bit better to have a small gap in my experience. [shrug]

I've toyed with the crossover on the polks between 80-120hz (those are my two options) I'm at 120hz right now, the Sub low pass is at 100 hz, and the box is a 1 cu. ft sealed box
