As far as I know, there's been no announcement on PS4 or any next-gen system. This go-around is still pretty young overall.

They (Sony and Microsoft) have claimed that these consoles are going to see 10 year lifespans. I'll believe that when I see it, but maybe they really intend that.

I don't think the 360 will. I've read rumors (in game informers) that the next bunch could show up in 2011 or 12.

PS2 is on it's 9th year... i don't see the PS3 lasting as long, but 6-7 years should be a safe estimate. I think the 3rd gen Xbox will be out much sooner though.

360 can do blu ray its just an extra buy...

I have a 360 and its 8$ a month for live... Which is totally worth it... You can also get a silver account which allows you to buy stuff haha... But it doesn't allow gameplay... But everything else is pretty much included.

I would recommend the 360... Especially if you have friends who play... I mean getting on with a bunch of friends and playing is so much fun... Castle Crashers is an amazing game too that never gets old... Then you should try N+ thats fun...

And 360 can have an added blu ray player... The smallest hard drive too holds alot... And you also have community games which there are some good ones out there...

But I would have to say the best thing about it is, the live is so much fun... I mean the new party system they added makes it so just you and friends can talk and play as a group... Dont need to worry about all the freaks...

I have never had the red rings of death... And Xbox will replace it if you do get them

And the freaks are everywhere... Paying for it actually weeds them out... Because most people who pay will really play...

They only warranty the RROD... my friend got a single red error light, and it wasn't warrantied. Has to buy a new 360.

Also 360 plays BR? First i've heard of that...

XBox does not have BluRay add on. I've searched to confirm this.

And he already got a 360, so the topic is kind of dead.

Yeah, go for it. I totally forget that we had those threads.

Currently I only have Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and the Hexic game that comes with the console. I'm sure I'll pick something else up that's actually multiplayer in the nearish future.

Also, already having my first problem. The left stick on the controller squeaks like it's nobody's business. It's super irritating. Gonna email MS and see what they can do for me.
