My old Fender

Okay, I think I've figured out what model and year my old Fender is. It's an F-15 and the serial number states that it was made in '73, but theres another thing, there is another serial number in a different spot, and on the label it's written "115" which was a much better model. It's aged some and it sounds amazing, but I'm curious, one serial number states that it was in '73 and the other states it was '71.

Any thoughts?

Apparently serial numbers for Fender acoustics were never archived and serve no purpose in dating a Fender acoustic, at least that's according to the Fender website. This is where pictures and more information would come in handy.

The Fender F115 was made from 1977 to 1987. The Fender F15 was a concert-sized acoustic guitar and was made from 1973 to 1981. So, if the label says "115" and it's a Dreadnought-sized acoustic, I would guess that your acoustic is a Fender F115. A quick google search shows the F115 looking like this while the F15 looked like this.

It's a F15... It's a F15 for sure. The main serial number says 304073 the second on the sides says 000371.

I don't think the second one is for a year, I think it's a factory number, but the first one fits the date.
