| Lord, I Was Born A Ramblin' Man...... OK, so I'm not new to this because my other journal can be referenced here. I didn't want to bump a post that is almost six years old though, so I thought I would create a new one. Mods, if this isn't right, you can merge, move, or do whatever your magical powers are to fix it. Anyway, on with the post.
I figured that I would finally start one of these again. I had one years ago, but have decided to revive it as I am now a more active poster here than I have ever been. My name is Matt(hew). You can call me either one. My parents and teachers always called me Matthew along with most friends up until maybe the last six or seven years. I am 22. I go to a small private college in Southwest Virginia and work at a small to mid-size coal company as an accountant. I actually have to drive an extra minute to get to my college over what I had to drive to get to my high school. I have a sister who is 19 but turns 20 in March. My life is fairly routine, but the most recent big news is:
As of this past Saturday I am now officially engaged. That’s right folks, after four years, eight months, and six days (give or take a few), I finally asked Leigh Ann to marry me. I picked out the ring on Monday and picked it up on Friday. The ring was so beautiful that I couldn’t wait to give it to her so I gave it to her the next day. I had originally thought I was going to wait and give it to her in a month or so. I had always told her I wouldn’t propose on a holiday or Valentine’s Day especially. It was a total shock to her, but that is what was great about it. After almost five years she knew it was coming and I was actually able to surprise her by doing it on a day that she didn’t expect it.
After someone finds out it seems as if they ask, “Have you set a date?”. My answer is a firm “No”. We’ve been engaged only a few days so why do people want to ask this question? I’m still letting it sink in and trying to get used to her being my fiancé rather than my girlfriend. I know that there is a lot to do and we’ll conquer it as it comes up. She is the organized one who has to have everything planned and I just kind of float through life. Maybe it’s just the female in her more than anything.
I think that is a fairly lengthy post for the first one (or at least in a long time). I’ll answer almost any question asked of me here so feel free to ask. I’ll try to update this thing often, but I make no guarantees.

| I've been engaged for a year... get used to lots and lots and lots of people asking you if you've set a date... Steph and I have to wait because we are both in college... so after a year there is still no date...
Anyways congratz dude... |

Anyway, nothing in the plan for today other than work (where I am now), class, back to work, and then a meeting. Then I will finally get to do homework and rest. Oh the joys of homework. May can't come soon enough.

Well it rained today. A lot actually. Luckily I remembered to bring an umbrella this morning. I worked, went to class, went back to work, went to two meetings, and finally made it home to eat dinner at like 9 p.m. I've really got to quit waiting that late to eat.
I have class from 8:00 till 12:20 tomorrow which is likely enough to drive me insane. Then, I must go tutor some kindergartners and then I will finally make it home. I feel as if I am running and never manage to catch up to anything. Oh well, it's time to sleep and I'm getting sleepy plus I still have some posts on here to get through.

| So this weekend was an uneventful weekend. I did nothing out of the normal routine and nothing that was really productive either. Friday evening I spent time at home relaxing and enjoying time with my family (I know. I’m corny.). Anyway Saturday came and I spent time with my fiancé and her family at her house. Again, nothing out of the normal happened. The day consisted of watching t.v., playing the Wii, and eating dinner.
I woke up to snow and icy roads this morning. That was a fairly big bummer so I couldn’t get to church. I spent most of the day trying to work on homework and get everything ready for these upcoming weeks towards spring break. It is my final spring break of my undergraduate career and what am I probably going to be doing? That’s right, working. Yes, I complain about working so much, but I enjoy it. I enjoy having an office job plus the people there are loads of fun too.
Tomorrow is my sleeping in day, but I don’t think I need to do much of that. It was 10 o’clock before I woke up both yesterday and today. I am convinced I am weird. I am alright running on 6-8 hours of sleep, but if I get ten like I did last night I feel worse than if I only get 8. I think my body is just used to it. Besides, sometimes I get a headache if I sleep too much.
Well folks, it’s been fun, but I think I’m off for the night. See you all on the flip side.

| Went to a photography lecture type thing on the coal fields of my region tonight. It wasn't very interesting. I thought it'd actually be intriguing since I work for a coal company, but nope, nothing.
I have so much to do before tomorrow. I have some business law to look over, advanced accounting problems to finish, and prepare for a management policy and strategy test. But, spring break begins next Friday.

| Things are going alright. I'm actually at work right now so I try not and post too much while I'm here.

You have any plans?

So do you prefer Matt or Matthew?
