Friday the 13th

Has anybody checked out the remake yet? A lot of people in my area said it's great. It looks interesting, especially since it ironically was released Friday the 13th. Any comments on the film?

I might see it. It looks like it could be a lot of fun, and it's Jason Voorhees. You can't go wrong with Jason Voorhees.

That's not called irony. It's called a marketing ploy.

Haven't seen it but it appears to be your basic hapless-teenagers-slaughtered-by-psychotic-undead-mongoloid type of movie. Standard "Friday the 13th" fare. Last one I saw was "Jason X" which was really stupid. Part VI remains the best.

This is actually the fifth one to be released on Friday the 13th.

They've actually taken this one back to the beginning so Jason is still very much human. He runs quite a bit and is back to setting up elaborate traps like in the second and third films.

I saw a sneak preview last Monday. It's exactly what you'd expect. Same basic formula with a slicker production. Lots of drugs, sex, and murder,

You must not have seen Jason X with a bunch of hyper 20 year olds at the dollar theater. That's how I saw it and it was awesome. We stood up to cheer every time Jason killed someone.

And drug users. Take off your cloths, drink alcohol, or smoke marijuana and you die.

At the time...I thought Jason X was one of the better ones in the series.

I was actually discussing this with some other ministers last night. In a sick and twisted way...slasher films...Ft13th especially...are morality tales. Jason (and the other killers in the series) always kill the ones who are acting immorally.

At the time we thought it was the greatest slasher film ever since it knew it was stupid and low budget and had no pretense of being anything else.

I saw it the other night. I'm a big fan of the series, and it didn't disappoint!

I think these kind of movies are disgusting, and it's a shame that people enjoy them. It's total garbage and doesn't deserve any place in the life of a person following Christ.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light...Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them...Be very careful, then, how you live.
-Ephesians 5:8,11,15
