| I don't get all the hype about Megan Fox. What's the big deal? She's a crappy-a** actress and a total skankwad.
I saw this the other night at midnight with a group of friends, having never seen the first and having only a cursory knowledge of Transformers. I know the names 'Optimus Prime' and 'Megatron' and 'Bumblebee' (from my 5 year-old cousin's toy collection) but that was about it.
I had a really hard time watching the action sequences. If you ask me, digital picture is no more clear than film -- during action sequences it all blurs together. Maybe it's just the size of the screen (our brains literally can't process that much sensory input), but the robots are already difficult to distinguish from one-another. Putting two of them in a combat scenario with a herky-jerky camera style and lots of debris and explosions, you just get lost.
I agree that the jokes and gags were lame.

| I didn't think the first one was that good so I'm really not expecting much out of this one either. |

If you like a bunch of awesome robots dueling it out + MEGAN FOX.... THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU!
I personally loved it. Can't wait until it comes out on DVD. | Thank goodness....someone else with realistic expectations.
Jokes were hilarious.
Guys like Megan Fox because she's hot. (and she's not that bad at acting)
I really don't see how most of the robots would be difficult to distinguish from each other (at least in Autobot vs. Decepticon fights), as long as you got a decent look at them beforehand.
The Rotten Tomatoes pages really baffle me - 57% approval for the first and 22% for this one?
There's no way it's so much weaker compared to the first film that 35% of critics who liked the first now hate/dislike the second.
I'll be sure to stick with IMDB from now on. Normal people don't expect more than they should (A. This is TRANSFORMERS 2 and B. It's a Michael Bay film)

She does have a few interesting prospects coming up(like a campy horror/comedy being written by Diablo Cody and a film where she will star opposite Mickey Rourke), so I'm gonna wait till I see those films to judge her skill as an actress.

| You know. I went into this movie knowing that it would be bad, and I thought it was even worse than what I anticipated.
Obviously because of the director I couldn't expect anything great, but what I got was just garbage. The acting was pathetic, the effects were mediocre (which is a crime since that's 90% of the movie), the story was nonexistent and the dialogue was awful. Which, as a sidenote... I can handle bad dialogue if it's at least funny because it's and the people delivering it KNOW that it's bad... but everyone acted like they were way into it and tried to deliver it so seriously that I couldn't even take it in a comedic sense. The worst part was that the action was tame and not all that exciting, so I couldn't even say that the battle scenes were worth the other crap.
Definitely one of the few movies that I've ever seen that I would say wholeheartedly, had I not gone with a buddy of mine, I would have walked right out.
Also, I know one of the things it would take to fix these movies. GET RID OF THE HUMANS!!! They're in this just mucking up the works the whole time. At least if you just have Autobots and Decepticons delivering bad lines it makes way more sense. The best performance was that old Decepticon.
Rant over. Horrible movie. |

| I didn't like the first one. So when I went to see this one, I expected to dislike it as much as I did the first. But I loved it.
Optimus prime was a total wuss in the first one, but he was a total badass in this one. I'll probably buy it when it comes out on DVD.

| Didn't like this movie at all. So often they were trying to be funny but it just... wasn't. At all. Some people thought it was hilarious but it wasn't even worth a little smile to me, let alone laughter. Dogs and robots humping things and parents who basically want their kid to have sex is meant to be funny, and may have been in a different movie with better delivery, but here it was just bizzare and out of place.

| It was worse than I expected. Fun and entertaining as a dumb action movie, but honestly terrible. |

| This movie will scare guys into not wanting to have sex with their girlfriends out of fear she is actually a transformer who wants to kill him.
Seriously though I'm glad I watched the movie, but the robot humor was awful, Shia Laidiot is an awful actor, and the action scenes were mediocre and relied on the audience simply being too confused to know what is happening for their appeal.
