The Machine

The word denomination,
I laugh at the thought,
Blanketed in hypocrisy,
Clothed in self righteousness,
We've made ourselves into heroes,
Programmed to program,
But we've forgot God...

Step back now and look at the monster we've created
We've added our ideas and called them doctrine,
We made ourselves a business and called it church,
Complete with political views, jobs and titles,
But where is God in this man made machine?
God does not dwell in things built with hands.

This Burden

Pain is the symptom,
The obstacle I face,
this cross I must bear,
weighs so heavy on my shoulder.

This knife in my chest,
My heart ripped open,
This rejection,
It's almost more than I can bear.

God, How will I ever get through this?
I know you are there,
I find strength in your love
And courage in your sacrifice.
But why must I face this again?
