Sound clips

Here's how this puppy sounds!! It's an Epi Dot Deluxe (Flametop), and if it sounds solid state-ish, it's not my amp, it's my mics. I'm using condensers so I had to keep my volume low, and they didn't sound that great, but it still works, it just sounds better to my ears than through the mics.

This track was all improv and the first two that you hear were on AC30 set up, clean sound, rhythm pickup.... all the later stuff is on UK 80's set up (JCM 800) and the far left solo is on about 7 on the volume (bridge pickup) the rest were on UK 80's (bridge) and with the volume at 2.

If anyone wants to post clips of their guitars, you can put them in this thread.

Sounds nice. What was your recording set up?

My recording set up... hmmm..

I used an Epi Dot Flametop, running straight into my Vox Valvetronix ADVT 50, I was in my bedroom, so no special acoustic set up... I was using an Audio Techinca Small Diaphragm Condenser (I'll get back to you later about the actual model, though I really wish I was using a dynamic) and I was recording into a Fostex Mr-8 MkII and I ran that into my laptop once I was done.

Like I said the clean sounds were set on AC30 with the gain at about 1/4 and I was using my Rhythm pickup, for the distortion I was mostly using the bridge pickup with the amp on UK 80's (my favorite setting) The really distorted one that you hear was mostly distorted from the mic, I finished the take but I wasn't too happy with how grainy it ended up sounding (though it sounds kinda Hawk Nelson-ish) and the awesome sounding distorted stuff was the same only with the guitar's volume turned really low (and I turned the amps main volume down a little).

Like I said if you'd like to post some clips of your own set up then feel free too.
