Favourite place in Australia

Where's your favourite place in Australia?

e.g. (this isn't my answer) Bundaberg because I can go to the Bundaberg Barrel and stock up on Ginger Beer

(my real answer) Melbourne because I grew up there and I have a supportive group of people who I can rely on. Plus you can go to the footy *kicks football*

ive been to melbourne for 6 weeks
sydney for 2 hours and
brisbane for 6 hours.

so um, leave australia and come to new zealand.

Australia's a big place. Can we narrow it down to favourite places in States and Territories?

South Australia - by far one of the greater states - I would have to say the West Coast. All of it. It's just amazing. It's just got noone there and its perfect for just you and God. The best. Without a doubt.

Western Australia - arguably the second best state - hmm... lots of more great coastline there. Peaceful Bay... ah yes, so peaceful and bay-like. And elephant rocks... they really are like elephants. It's amazing.

I took Dogfood's advice. Left Australia and went to New Zealand. 3 times. It is glorious. Especially down in the deep south. I skydived in Taupo and that was beautiful, from the sky.

And I really like Napier. Weird huh.

My favourite place in Australia is Melbourne. It has a really nice atmosphere with a lot of things to do. I think it's definitely the prettiest city in Australia and the music scene is the strongest in the country by my estimation. And going to the footy is awesome. Brisbane is a close second, maybe just because I spend so much time there and have so many memories of it as a kid, and I have a lot of nice friends there. Sydney is really great to visit but I don't think I would enjoy living there.

I've seen a lot of the country but I'm a city person.

nice. I've only lived along the east side of Australia, been as far west as Armidale, NSW (I think), and yeah, now I live about 150m above sea level and about 120km inland.

Cant's stand Melbourne. Been there a couple of times and really disliked it. In fact i would be fairly happy not to go back. Also there is no decent footy in Melbourne. You have to be in Sydney or Queensland for the NRL.
