Epi's Epic

Writing a journel is a labor of love. I choose the title based upon two things. First of all I like to think of everyone's life as being a story with a new chapter being wrote everyday. God is a master author who weaves the various aspects of each individual's life together and brings it to a place where he is glorified. Secondly and less seriously, as a dedicated reader of J.R.R. Tolkien I couldn't resist a reference to something more or less "Epic" For now I just want to say that this week I have been just enjoying the season and thinking about how God showed his love to us through the birth of his son. I also have been wondering what the upcoming year holds not only for me but for everyone. On one level I wonder what will happen in my life, rather 2009 will be a good year or a bad year, and how it will all turn out now that I and getting ready to graduate from college. On the other level I wonder what will happen with the world, what with all the conflict and the trouble countries are going through finacially now a days. I guess it all comes down to faith and believing that all things come together and work out for the glory of the Lord. God Bless!

My evening is going good all though I got to log out soon and do a Dialysis treatment. (I'm on home dialysis). Its cool though I watch old T.V. Shows and read books so it all works out As far as financial stuff goes i wonder about a lot of stuff as well. Seems like you read the paperr one day and its looking good and the next day its bad. I heard a preacher the other day say all this is in line with the end times. Not sure about that but its good to know God doesn't work like Wall street.

Nothing new to report today. I'm here at the house practicing keyboard and guitar. Currently I'm working through the Chords to an old Beatles song and just getting the timing and fingering down good. In keyboard I just finished working on the Old Spiritual "Deep River" and have moved on to "Loch Lomond". Its written in the key of E flat major and its taking a bit to remember what all is flat. I try to practice Guitar and Piano equally but I must admit the guitar gets the most practice time quite often. Any way I'm just thankful for the opportunity to learn to play anything. I work with teenagers regularly though our church who would love to learn to play an instrument but their parents can't afford the instrument or the lesson. Sadly in some cases the parents just don't want to be bothered with the trouble of being involved in their children's lives. On a more positive note I met a kid the other day who is so excited about getting to take guitar lessons for the first time. Its cool to see such enthusiasm, I hope he goes just as far as he can in this journey called guitar playing.

Been sitting here putting music on my ipod. Just finished putting all my Third Day stuff on and now I'm working on Audio A and it got me to thinking which group I like better.Talk about a tough choice. They both have different styles and I really like both. Audio a seems to be somewhat more light in their subject matter for songs, especially their older stuff. I mean can you see Third Day doing a song like DC-10? (For that matter even Big House?) On the other hand their later albums were much more worship driven. Third Day on the other hand seems to always have had a serious side even their first CD had great worship songs on it. In the end I really can not say who I like better. I really miss Audio A now that they are gone. And I hated to see Brad Avery leave Third Day since he was one of my favorite guitarists. (Along with Tyler Burkum).

Sorry for not posting lately. I have had my nose buried in a book for the past week and a half. I got the C.S. Lewis Space trilogy for Christmas and thought I'd give it a try. Normally I don't like spce and science fiction sort of book s but i will readily admit that these are an exception to that rule. I haven't been able to put them down. I had read other works by lewis including Mere Christianity and The Problem of Pain, and the Chronicles of Narnia. This trilogy in my opinion beats them all. Well for now I got to go. I'm trying to finish the Last book. Probably won't get much sleep tonight......
