| CGR's Official AUS/NZ Cricket Thread What are your thoughts on this season of cricket?
I think it has been pretty good so far... I'm looking forward to Sunday as I might be going to Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test.

| It's been interesting so far. I don't think Hayden has much longer left. Been impressed with Siddle in this 2nd Test, a lot better than in Perth. This series and the one in SA will be some of the most interesting cricket we've seen as the Australian side continues this rebuild.

| You're right about Hayden, but I think it's like all great cricketers who go through a really rough patch in their games...
Siddle was good yesterday... I was quite disappointed not to see him take the last wicket yesterday, although Hauritz also deserved another wicket.
There's another series in SA? I guess that will be exciting too...
Have you been to any of the cricket so far this summer?

| I'm hoping to get to the Sydney Test, looking at day 3. Though it might be a dead rubber by then....

| Probably...most people are saying that today's loss causes the end of an era of Aussie domination

| You weren't expecting that? Twas bound to happen when 1200 wickets, about 10000 runs and hundreds of catches retire. It's the same as when all the big names retired in the Windies, when Botham and Willis retired, when Lillee, Marsh, Chappel et al finished up in the early 80's. They'll be back

Apparently the New Year's Test is going pink for the McGrath Foundation

| ok stage right, the kiwi enters the scene.
been on holiday/ enforced departure from internet.
ive been watched the tests live. i love it and not just because australia is losing.
johnsons batting and bowling... hes going to be huge for the next few years
steyn...he murdererd us when we toured SA last year. but goood on him for that partnership with Dounammy?
ive actually appreciated listening to shane warne on the commentary team. which is quite a deal looser than it has been.

| well since you broke greame smith';s hand, you have a good chance.
siddle got 5 wickets in the first innings, by bowling straight. he can do it again,m last day those cracks should be wide open by know

| Australia 445 & 257/4d
South Africa 327 & 62/1 (26.0 ov)
South Africa require another 314 runs with 9 wickets remaining
personally i would back south africa, i know its a test match and people have the test match mind set thing going, but that score is able to be done in a 50 over game, and in test cricket you have 90 overs a day.

| Step aside you Aussie and New Zealander, Here come a South African!!
Has the tests not been great cricket? Both teams have played well at different times of the tests. 300 odd runs to get, if SA batsmen don't play like a bunch of amateurs then we will win hands down. We can win this one but don't think Aus is going to give up. One thing I must say about Australian sportsmen, they don't give up. For the first time I like a New Zealander. You say SA will win. Who do you think will take the tri nations rugby crown this year?
Keep a close eye on the 20/20 games coming up as well as the one dayers. It is going to be a sizzler series. If you get down to the ground to one of the games, just think of this South African sitting thousands of miles away wishing he was there with you.
Enjoy the games and keep in contact

south africa verses australia....south africa
and always new zealand.
