the tattoo thread.

I don't have any...yet. But I want to see yours! Post/attach pictures and explain or tell the story behind them if there is one (or two, or three).

Or, post plans/pictures for future tattoos.

Ooooo! Yay!

I need a new photo, but this is what I have:
Picture 158

A peacock feather. I got it after my mom died to remind me to have confidence. I've been quite lacking in it my whole life, and it just seemed like the time to "grow a pair" , etc.

Next? I want a flock of seagulls on my left scapula/shoulder.

Ah! So pretty. I'd love to see a better/closer-up (pretty sure that's not a phrase) picture.

I think seagulls would be beautiful. A girl I know on another message board has one maybe similar to what you want? I really like it:

Is it creepy that I remember back when you were just discussing getting that tatoo?

I said pictures, dangit.

Also, so here's what I'm wanting...

I've been wanting a salt tattoo for a while for various reasons...so I was looking around last night and found this:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3287/...baeb8d.jpg?v=0

Which I really, really like (not so much the location as the style/art of it). Then I found this:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2184/...6fd519.jpg?v=0

Which I also really, really like...minus the tongs and the whisk without the hanger loop and the whisk end a little more drawn in. If you've ever seen Duff Goldman's (Ace of Cakes) tattoo, more like that.

So now I'm thinking instead of two or three separate tattoos, maybe converge them all into one small trio of tattoos, either side by side (not sure of the order) or in a triangle, with the salt shaker on top and the knife and whisk on bottom.

Placement is also another issue - when I finally do get my tattoos, I don't want them anywhere I can't see them (e.g. my back, back of my shoulders, back of my legs...it works for some people, but for me, that's not what I want). I don't want anything on my chest, So really, my available options are my arms or feet, because I want them all relatively small and easy to hide - so I'm thinking the inside of my wrist or forearm somewhere.

In any case, it's all still in the planning stages. I've been wanting to get another tattoo of my dad's name and dates (he passed away when I was younger) on my right inner wrist for a while, but when I initially brought up the idea with my mom, she got really upset, so I've been holding off for a while now...but I really think it's time I get something done.

I'll get a "closer-up" picture soon. I just got it touched up a week or so ago, so it's even prettier now. Hehe.

A bit like that, only more spread out....starting at the bottom of my scapula. I haven't quite decided if I just want seagull silhouettes or sketched seagulls though.

Well, I just got one today.

The store I worked at and loved (Sounds Familiar) is closing down, so a friend and I got tattoos. He got the whole logo on his shoulder, but I just decided on the SF.

Hi, so you managed to pass the 18 hurdle without going under the needle then, as so many do then.

But now you want it, right? so how are you plans going?

Take care.
