#16 | | It's over 9000!!!!!!! | I've played this a bit. Very fun game.
The multiplayer is very awesome. Only issue I have with it are the somewhat clunky movements and aiming. But that's not to say it is bad. I have just been playing Halo for the last 3 and a half years, which is smooth to a nearly bad level. |

| So, if I'm not good at dealing with horror/zombie games... (I get freaked out easily on such games) Would I be able to handle Left4Dead...? 'Cause it's on sale this weekend, and conceptually, I love it, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle the zombie elements all that well. Obviously the only tie it has to a horror game is zombies, but still...
I really want to play it, but I'm trying to avoid wasting $25 on something I'll never be able to play. |

| I'm guessing you missed the free day Friday...? It looks like there isn't a demo anymore, either.
I really want to recommend it because it is such a good game......but it really can get freaky at times. Most of the levels are dark (you pretty much always have your flashlight on), and the screams and musical cues really are terrifying.
Maybe find someone to lend you their Steam password? |

| Yeah, I tried to get it downloaded in time, but I didn't have time to get it finished and try it out because of work, so it disappeared. I really want to play it, because it does look awesome... I'm just afraid (pun fully intended) that I wouldn't be able to make it through a full round.
Actually, I just remembered, there's a gaming/LAN center right by my work that totally has L4D installed... I can jump on there for a few and try it out. |

| I'd say it's more intense than it is scary, and after I played each campaign once I treated it like business. Fun business, but I just did what was necessary to survive and ignored the shrieking/hacking/gurgling/roaring monsters. Not that scary to me compared to a traditional survival horror game.
The Witch. She's always scary to me. Because of what she can do. |

| Finally went and tried L4D out tonight with one of the guys from work...
Definitely am gonna pick it up next time it's on sale. That's a fun game. Totally agree, though that's it more tense/intense than actually scary. I was gettin' waaay into it, though.
And yeah... "The Witch has been Alerted" or whatever... Those are words and sounds that you definitely never want to see or hear. To quote what I said after the first time my buddy found the Witch - "Let's not do that again". |

| This is an awesome, awesome game. Glad you get to enjoy it MJ.
I think my favorite part is how you can be the zombies in multiplayer. And how frantic it gets when you're not.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| So any of us PC L4Ders up for some Fourth of July weekend zombie blastin' action (tm)? I've only gone through the first campaign so far (and that was before I bought it, so I'm fresh on the Steam version) and I'd dig blowin' some hours on this. |

Actually I wanted to pick up the 360 version as well just because I know a few people on there that I could play with as well. Maybe I still will, seeing as how that list keeps adding up. |

| Well, if you guys do decide to grab a 360 copy, we'll have to play sometime! Easily my current favorite multiplayer game, especially with that new Survivor mode . |

| This game is very addicting. I love the multi-player and with the new maps; it's definitely worth the money. If I had the money I'd buy it, but I just resort to using my friends copy.

| So I have a question for everyone who owns this game: how would you rate the replay value of just the campaign?
I have very limited funds as it is right now, and buying an XBox Live subscription would just mean more possible distraction in regards to school. Plus, our living room setup makes it so that in order for me to access Live, I'd have to lay the A/V and power cords in front of the doorway to the kitchen.
My friends told me not to get it if I can't play it on Live, because it gets really boring (they only had 2 controllers, like me).

| Honestly, I haven't played online yet, but I'm having a blast going through the campaigns. I think the higher difficulty levels could give it a good amount of replay value on its own. Plus, even though the levels themselves don't change, the AI Director seems to mix it up good enough that you can't expect the exact same thing twice. |
