Talking drawing methods and tips.

Here's the place to discuss methods, give little pointers, and discuss posted drawings. (yes I said posted drawings. I wanna' see DRAWINGS, not recent pics or anythin' else)
I'll try to get JSmith to post some of my art, so you MIGHT have the chance to get sickened by it.
Anywayz. Any tips, methods you wanna' share, go ahead.

Cool drawing!

Lately I've been working on a drawing of a furre with wings, but I can't figure out how to draw the feathers... anyone got any tips?

Thank you. *bows*
I have the same prob. w/ feathers.
Are there any tips you could give me on drawing furres??? I tried a tiger wearing Samurai armor and all that, but he ended up looking like a goalie with whiskers, and orange and black skin.

Well, practice practice practice for one (but that's kinda obvious ). Get a little pocket sketchbook and just doodle in your spare time, it really helps, whether you're just learning to draw in general or learning to draw something specific.

I'm not sure what exactly you're having problems with, but you mentioned the the tiger just looking like it had orange and black skin... One thing that helps furres look... um... furry , is adding a bit of texture to the outline where the fur is exposed. Try... "fluffing out" the line a bit, or adding slightly jagged bits (um... it's hard to explain, so if you don't get it I'll doodle up an example), especially where fur meets fitted clothing. (I don't actually use this much in my drawings, bad me. ) I can't really think of anything else right now... any specific things you wanna know?

Yes. How does one conquer drawing the felinoid face?
I usualy do people or Predator or Gimli or something, so I'm not so good at 'fluffy' stuff.
I'll have to practice some and get my bro. to post what I draw. (or at least the best of what I draw!)
And ninjas, I love to draw ninjas.

That really depends on how anthromorphic it is... either way, I don't really know how to explain it (I avoid drawing anything but straight-on faces... bad habit, I know ), but this may help. It's a nifty zip file with instructions on general "drawing a furre" type things. Never helped me, but that's 'cause I can't seem to get a drawing done right if I do a rough outline first.

This isn't really a -drawing- method question persay, but... how do you keep the pencils in the Prismacolor box from continually falling out? It happened a good 5-6 times today!

I carry mine in those little spacemaker boxes, so I don't have to worry about that.

Is it just me, or are we the only one's that post about drawing.

I think we are, aside from a few scattered posts here and there. Poor fools unenlightened to the joys of drawing. J/k.

And uh... little spacemaker boxes? Do explain.

Tracy,
A spacemaker box is one of those little plastic boxes that you can probably find in your shoocl supplies stor/section of wal-art or something. They have colored tops, and translucent bottoms.(if that helps any)
And I'd have to agree with you there, Tracy; people who don't like drawing or even doodling ARE unenlightened! j/k

Matnus,
thanks for the compliment. What do YOU like to draw?
I've definitely done better drawings of Predators. I'll have to post my most awesome(j/k about that), chilling, and recent pic.
