It was hard to take John Lithgow seriously at first. My sister tells me he has played more serious roles, but I will always think of him as ☺☺☺☺ Solomon, Lord Farquaad and George Henderson (in that order).
But hes been slowly changing my mind. This last episode has changed me the most towards him. Loved it.
Ha. The name D>ick gets censored? Hm. |

| The part where it looked like Dexter was going to murder Arthur in the kitchen literally made me jump up out of my seat. I mean it's one thing that the guy is a murderer (watching Dexter makes one used to seeing scumbag murderers), but the fact that he keeps his family like this just brings him up to a new level of scumbaggery. It's similar to when we found out in season three that Miguel Prado had been manipulating Dexter then entire season.
Please note that I mean I'm used to seeing scumbag murderers on Dexter, I am in no way used to seeing scumbag murderers in real life, nor will I ever. |

| Holy crap. Anyone else see the finale tonight? I need to vent. ***BIG SPOILER*** I'm...crushed. I literally think I might be depressed for a few days over this show. This is even worse than the season 1 finale of 24. Genius writing, opens up a lot of opportunities for future seasons, and certainly saved the series from a possible jumping of the shark, but...crap. I'm not taking it well.
I mean, I was as annoyed as anyone else by Rita. She definitely wasn't my favorite person on the show. But she meant so much to Dexter that I grew to really care about her. I'm still reeling. |

| I didn't get to watch it live, but I talked to my brother moments after and he was freaking out.
He said his girlfriend literally dropped what she had in her hand.
Never expected that - as soon as I was in disbelief as I was watching it going "no...it's not going to be what I think it's going to be, it's not going to be what I think it's going it be, it's not going to GAAAAH!"
Very, very good finale.
I am looking forward to the rest of series. |

| Great is what that finale was. Yep.
One thing though...isn't anyone else curious about Trinity's family not mentioning this mysterious "Kyle Butler" who fled their house just as the cops busted in? Didn't they see him standing there as they were led to the cruiser?

| Holy smokes. Of all the things that were running through my mind that end was not anywhere near one of the possibilities. I agree with Danny; I've never felt so crushed by a television show before.
****************** SORT OF SPOILER *****************
It's so tragic because Dexter can't even get revenge. There's absolutely nothing he can do about it.
****************** END *****************
I get the feeling that the Mitchell family isn't done with the series, I can see them coming into play next year. Because the police will obviously know that Arthur killed Rita there will serious investigations into why Arthur would kill Dexter's wife as opposed to a more prominent member of Miami Metro. I could see Dexter telling them that he killed Arthur so as to get them to cover for him. |

| I don't necessarily disagree, but what are your issues with this season? |

Not that exact story, but we've seen similar things before. Deb's whole thing with Quinn is also annoying. Do we really need a new Deb romance story every season? There's also no reason for Dexter to continue to hang out with Mos Def once he realized that he's not a killer. Ultimately it just doesn't have the intensity or reflection that the show used to have. I thought last season was just a speed bump in quality, but now it seems like it was the edge of the cliff. |

| This season hasn't really drawn me in or had the tension of some past seasons. I did like the major plot twist though. |

| They had to tone down his character for network television. If it had stayed on Showtime it would be like the original two seasons. That being said, I'm not a fan of the show in general. It's just not what draws me in. |

| The seasons final twist has been several seasons coming, but besides that this season has been a bit of a dud for me.
If I were to rank the seasons.
1 / 4 tied
3
5
6
2 (I didn't like what they did with any of the plots, the main villain, or the reason they killed a cast member. I almost stopped watching after they killed the person off) |
