New toy. (Blue Oval content v1.5?)

So I went shopping today. After test driving many things over the weekend, I finally brought one home. I ended up getting something I didn't plan on. At all.

1994 Ford F250. 5.8 liter V8, 5 speed manual, 4x4, extended cab. Very good condition. Previously owned by a Master Tech mechanic. New tires, all maintenance kept up. Entire under-carriage is done in a Rhino/Por-15 type rust proofing paint.

Medium-high mileage, at 150k. But it is in very good shape. This thing is the most reliable thing I've tested out all weekend. I am very happy with it, even if it is a huge truck.

Pics shall come later.

Dana 60 Front? Divorced 205 transfer case? If you want to start giving partial information, El Tim, then I worry for the future of our site.

I actually don't understand trucks, except for hauling things, otherwise I don't see the point. YOMV.

Well, you do have a point. I have a truck, and most of the time it's pretty useless. But it's fairly economical, and it's paid for, and when I do have to haul something, it's really nice.

I believe it is all stock. I do not know, if I did, I would have divulged.

I enjoy reliable transportation.

Well, I need 4x4 transportation. And this truck was the best option in my price range. I am going to be moving the contents of two storage units into a house over the next few months, so it will be useful.

I would have preferred a car, or smaller truck. But, I got a good deal on this.

Mine will not be economical. And it won't be paid for for about a year. But, it will get me from point A to point B, no matter the weather.

My dad had that exact same truck when I was 12. It was beastly. I still miss it.

And to this I say, get a more economical car, and then rent a truck or use a buddies when you need to move things. That will be cheaper in the long run.

Nah, if you're going to do that, do it right: get a sports car!

Congrats dude, gotta love a good old Ford truck. I still miss the one I used to drive.

Eh, for the price of a more economical car that is also very reliable.... I can buy a whole lot of gas. Also, I do not drive many miles. I live 3 miles from my place of work. So no, it wouldn't be cheaper in the long run, unless the long run you're referring to is somewhere around 10+ years. And I plan on replacing my truck sooner than that anyway.

If I buy a different vehicle, it will not be for the gas mileage. It will be for the reason that was addressed two posts above this.
