Anyone see the Lakers/Blazers skirmish? Ariza has always struck me as being a dick. The Lakers cry too much when they get their ass beat.

Meh...if Fernandez gets back up then it's not a big deal to anyone.

Even if that was true (you didn't even watch what happened, he was taken off the court on a stretcher...and kept in the hospital overnight )... how is that a valid criteria for determining the maliciousness of a foul?

I'm not even a Blazers fan.

I did watch what happened. Was it a hard foul? Yeah. Was it a stupid foul? Yeah.

Does it make Trevor Ariza a dick? Hardly. Hard, stupid fouls occur all of the time in the NBA. This was only a big deal because after he went down, Fernandez had to be carried off. If he gets up and shoots his two, then I really don't think anyone would care.

Perhaps it was intentional, perhaps it wasn't. Maybe it was calculated, maybe it was just dumb. But given that the Lakers were losing by 28 at the time its easy to see why Ariza would be frustrated, that's all I'm saying. To many people it looked malicious.

Also, Bryant didn't even talk to reporters after the game. Kobe is an amazing player (heck I rooted for the Lakers last year in the Finals) but he whines so freaking much. He's almost as bad as Tim Duncan.

Haha...I've never been a big Kobe fan...I'm not sure what it is about him, but I've never been able to bring myself to root for him or his Lakers.

Sure he was probably frustrated, doesnt make it automatically malicious though.

Wait...because he didnt stay and talk to reporters(aka didnt stay to whine about it),your saying he is a whiner?

I dont particularly care for the Lakers, but Kobe's a baller and havent heard him whine lately.

All i have to say about that brawl is, I would never want to be on Brandon Roy's bad side... he looks scary when he is pissed. Also the only reason (i think) why it was made it to such a big deal was cause Rudy weighs like 180lbs. He is so scrawny, i think most other NBA players could have taken that fall and walked of the court.

Okay, dude, maybe whining isn't the right word. Pouting, ok? Is it not reasonable to infer that Kobe was possibly pouting by not talking to reporters? I apologize in advance if this sounds completely insane.

Kobe whines all the time. Every time he's called for a foul, he whines like it is the most preposterous call ever made. Everybody knows this, and only Lakers fans deny it. It does not take away from the fact that he's one of the best players ever.

Hopefully the Lakers will get Utah instead of Dallas in the first round. Utah won't beat them, but they'll probably win a game or two and hopefully make the games L.A. wins interesting.
