| Maybe the Celtics of the eighties. Maybe.
Has anyone noticed Atlanta? They're still undefeated, with wins against Detroit, New Orleans, and an improved Toronto squad. They may be higher than an 8 spot this year. Too early to call, but I hope they do well. |

Sorry.
Fine. A bench that rivals a lot of starting line ups in the current NBA.
Better? |

Atlanta is on a tear and so far hasnt missed a beat without sixth man Childress.Hopefully Smith doesnt miss too much with that ankle sprain, but so far still looking good.

Better? | You think way too highly of your team.
Atlanta does play in the East. It is not that deep of a conference. I can see them going in with possibly as high as a 5 seed. |

| Lakers bench aside, their starters might be the best in the league. There may be no answer for them this year. But hey, by the looks of it, maybe Phoenix can lose to someone other San Antonio this year. |

| Boston barely topped the Hawks. And I guess that was a bit of grudge match. |

| And thank you, Detroit. No more undefeated teams, unless LA scores 15 points in one minute.
I saw Tracy McGrady do that once. |

| This may have already been said...but isn't this a much better situation for Iverson then he had last year? I look the looks of him and Rasheed Wallace on the floor at the same time. I'm a Laker hater so I really enjoyed last nights game. The Pistons looked like they were having fun. |

Anyone else see this? Anthony Morrow puts up 37 in first start.Undrafted rookie out of Ga Tech, signed with Golden State in July.Glad to see it as Im a huge GT fan and loved watching him shoot it in college.Hope he gets more like this.

| If someone beats L.A. this year, it will be the eastern conference champions. They have remained long enough to witness what could be the shifting of power from West to East. It's too early to call, but San Antonio is old, Phoenix is getting old, and Houston's collective foot is always broken. Utah is getting better, but they're off to a bad start. Amidst all of this, the Lakers have gotten steadily better...I believe their time has come. |

| Well the Eastern conference has some very solid teams in it this year. Detroit's in a bad losing streak, but aside from that many of these teams are off to great starts. Miami is above .500 and well on there way to surpassing last season's grand total of 15 wins. But across the Mississippi river, bad things are happening. Can any western team even make the Lakers flinch? Is the era of the almighty Western conference nearing its end?
It looks like it, but I'd say many western teams are better than their records, as many are dealing with numerous injuries, particularly Phoenix and all three Texas teams. Portland is off to a very solid start, no thanks to poor Greg Oden. I think Sacramento would be better if they played every opponent like they play the Lakers. I think even with a totally different team they still hold the Lakers responsible for the lack of a championship banner in the rafters.
This is shaping up to be a good year. |
