The single and second cut to top the Rock chart from the band’s critically acclaimed and fastest selling album, Alien Youth, becomes Skillet’s third successive No. 1 from the project and eighth No. 1 in its history.
Following the accomplishments of “Vapor,” Skillet’s fourth single, “One Real Thing,” is currently climbing airplay charts. Serviced to radio on January 18, the second Pop/CHR single from Alien Youth has already gained “Hitbound” and “Most Added Pop” status.
Last year, Alien Youth’s title cut, holding the No. 1 position on the Rock chart for six consecutive weeks, placed Skillet at No. 2 just behind P.O.D. on The CCM Update’s “Rock Top 25” 2001 Year-End Airplay Chart. Its second single, “You Are My Hope,” became the group’s first ever No. 1 on the Christian Hit Radio chart, positioning Skillet at No. 4 on the “CHR Top 25”in 2001 among leading artists Steven Curtis Chapman, Rebecca St. James and Newsboys.
Skillet recently received two Dove nominations for the Gospel Music Association’s 33rd Annual Dove Awards. Following the August 28 release of its media and fan favorite, Alien Youth, Skillet garnered a nod for “Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year” for the project. The No. 1 radio hit and title cut from Alien Youth was also nominated for “Rock Recorded Song of the Year.”

The tour follows last fall’s 44-city headline tour and brings Skillet’s most significant production to date into an additional 35 markets across the country, including Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Nashville, Indianapolis and Grand Rapids, among others.
