Wow, i've been enlightened by the musical wonder of Tom Waits.
Amazing, completely chilled bluesy jazz, sometimes more upbeat, and of course his unmistakeable voice.
I'm listening to the Alice album right now, I love it so far.

If you've got Fuse you can watch Tom get inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame tonight.

From the Tomwaits.com newsletter:

" There have been rumblings and rumors. New music from Tom Waits, you say? Come to TomWaits.com on Tuesday August 23rd, and Mr. Waits himself will set the record straight.

I just now heard God's Away On Business for the very first time.

I'm still trying to figure out how something can be so beautiful and yet so ____ed up at the same time.

Awesome. So far nothing sounded too different from the last few albums, but I'm definitely liking what I'm hearing so far. I still need to get that massive, expensive last album for my collection.

It's definitely worth it. The variaty on it is insane.

Well, just got a copy of the single "Bad As Me" and I've listened to it about 7 times in a row. Sounds like a mixture of Real Gone and Mule with a bit of Blood Money in there (with the honking brass and harmonica). Also seems like Tom's getting a bit more of a Captain Beefheart vibe in his voice.

Bad as Me

Stream the album if you can get a code...

First listen through update: Dug it. Good variety of slow, fast, heavy, and soft. Seems to be more "clean" and "produced" than other Waits albums, but that's not a bad thing. Very loopy on some tracks. Some nice guests playing on the record. Keith Richards, Marc Ribot, Larry Taylor, Les Claypool, and Flea to name a few...
