#1 | | Taster of Pork! | Monster Energy. I kept seeing this kid I know in marching band drink it, so I bought a bottle today at the gas station to try it out. But I decided to save it for my birthday because of the caffiene. Has anybody drank this?

#4 | | Cool enough Administrator | As far as energy drinks go, I think Monster is pretty gross. I do not drink them often, maybe one every other month. They are simply really bad for you if you drink a lot of them.
Tastiest: Vitamin Energy. So yummy. |

#6 | | Crushy McSternum | When I did drink energy drinks, I was strictly a Red Bull and Sobe guy. All of the others just taste awful, with the exception of Monster Java.
Personally, I wonder why this isn't more popular.

| I'd recommend two: Spike Shotgun/Shooters, and Nerd.
The Spike drinks are zero calories. The percentage of B vitamins in each is in the tens of thousands of percent. There's also a great deal of caffeine.
Nerd Energy Drink was formulated by a medical student and includes chemicals that I've seen in no other energy drinks - ones connected to brain functions.
I find that the vast majority of energy drinks do nothing for me. I've never really become wired from sugar or caffeine. I have to receive the latter in a strong, concentrated dose for it to work. I've napped immediately after taking No-Doze and slept for quite some time.
But the two energy drinks above have a marked impact. Because I take vitamins regularly, I have plenty of B vitamins in my system. However, getting 33,333% at once does affect me. On top of that, I find that Nerd doesn't help me stay awake, it helps me focus.
An experiment: have a Nerd drink directly before sleep. I can report that I have vivid dreams. A caution: if you drink Spike or take a major B vitamin supplement before sleep, you'll likely have nightmares. Combine the two, and the experience is intense. But I'd stick with the former before bedtime.

| By the way, let me add that Energy Drinks often work because of the placebo effect. We often look down on ancient cultures for magical thinking, but it's still prevalent. I'm an amateur herbalist, and I've found that many of the usual suspects in energy drinks - such as Gingko Biloba or Ginseng - are often in the drinks in such a small amount, they won't work. I haven't had too much success with those herbs by themselves, and I suspect it's the placebo effect that makes them work for others. That said, a B vitamin pill works wonders for me, and I often mix my own energy blend.

| A wee bit o' desoxyephedrine will work wonders. Wakka wakka.

| My favorite energy drink: Powerthirst, because it makes you feel like a fighter plane made of biceps. Oh yes. |

| Monster is pretty much the only "energy" drink I enjoy the taste of. It tastes like sugary pez candy.
That said, I am of the opinion that no standard energy drink has a useful amount of B vitamins or caffeine to actually be an "energy" drink. |

#12 | | Crushy McSternum | I forgot to mention Mana Potion. For the past six or so months, I really can't count how many of those babies I've downed in a glass of Mountain Dew or Powerade to get through binge movie, gaming, and sparring sessions, much less work.
