Okay, so a few years ago, I figured, I'm pretty good at most musical things I do, so I thought I'd give songwriting a try. I sucked. I crashed and burned. It went down the tubes.

Now, I've improved, thanks very much to taykey, who has given me heaps of support in writing these songs.

Come Back Home (RC)
I guess every song comes with a story. I'm writing about some people I know, who have known that God has been with them in everything, yet they've led themselves astray and found themselves in trouble. They've realised what they've done and they've begged God for forgiveness and returned to God's family. So, here it is... my first song:

VERSE 1
Like the high-rising dawn
I can see you are there
I can feel such a touch
From Your presence

Like my quick-dying eyesight
I know temptation’s here
But Your love and Your grace
Will protect me

The devil screaming in my face

Better World (this one, i don't think is quite as good but I like any song I write)

hey, this one's really good too

just two things:you kinda have a pattern of two or four lines, and in prechorus two, the pattern slips a bit.
and in some places i kinda lose sense of a constant beat, but once you put music to it, it'll prbably be fixed. the music can fix that.

this is good keep it up

Okay, thanks. Have you heard "Home" by Daughtry? Try and put the lyrics to a beat similar to that, andit might sound better

Don't forget that you don't have to make the lyrics really fit a certain scheme in the song.
a lot of people and bands do that, but it starts to sound repetitive and singsongy.

check out the clean singing on underoath, or paramore. They are pretty good examples of awesome melodies done in a creative fashion. Also, Coheed and Cambria (not Christian, but my fav band)

Thanks! *blushes* I feel special now.

I'll need to fix it though...as Thrash said, try not to get too repetitive and singsongy so I need to try and fix a couple of them... I tried mixing a few different songs together the other night, and it worked... sort of. I kinda mixed the beat of Relient K's Hope for Every Fallen Man (Acoustic) and I Celebrate the Day together, put my words to it, and it worked! I'm a genius, sort of.

Need to write more... Haven't had a chance since school restarted.
