Hegel -- discussion

Write my paper for me.

No, seriously.

What do you all think of Hegel? He's got a lot to say, and he's got a lot of interesting movements from one concept to another. Do you like 'im? What makes you aversive to his philosophy? What compels you to be attracted to his philosophy?

if anyone says "I have no idea" (ich habe keine Idee), you better believe I'd say you do too; absolutely!

... this paper is going to knock me unconscious!

(mwhaha, so many great jokes can be made, but so many people don't get them; the unity of funny and not-funny)

Hegel is notoriously difficult to comprehend; I certainly have not been able to do so to any significant degree. Part of the problem is wrapped up in the issue of translating the original German: does "geist" refer to "mind" or "spirit" or does it possibly refer to both? Do either translations come anywhere near what Hegel actually meant by "geist"?

I have found his practical philosophy to be more practical.

I like the idea of thesis and antithesis in regards to history, specifically.
